Man, most of the strange movies I've seen have been mentioned already. Let's see...

Pan's Labyrinth. I couldn't actually finish watching it, because as soon as they went into the whole magical world plotline, I started going WTF all over the place.

Labyrinth. Similar to Pan's Labyrinth (Obviously this one came first) the movie just started to blow my mind after a while. Though David Bowie is awesome in that movie (And playing himself, essentially).

If you do what I did (Which is WRONG) and try to take The Rocky Horror Picture Show seriously, that movie can be pretty whacked out. It's a fantastic movie, don't get me wrong, but it's one of those movies that just made me go, "What in god's name is going on here?"

Oh, and someone mentioned an anime series earlier...I'd like to point out a few more anime things as well. First off, the animated movie Paprika...yeeeeesh, that movie is seriously messed up at times (The whole parade scene is a WTF moment in and of itself, and that music will never leave your head. Ever.)

Paranoia Agent was kind of weird to me when I first saw it on Cartoon Network. I think I remember it being really trippy in the beginning, although I didn't actually watch through to the end, and I didn't really understand it.

I also want to point out just the concept of the movie "Origin: Spirits of the Past". Essentially, mutant trees have made their way to Earth from the moon and took over the planet in a fiery holocaust.

...yeah...

In a Toyota, plotting revenge.

That sounds weird. But in a good "so strange I gotta see it" kinda way.

The Perverts Guide to Cinema with Slavoj Zizek kinda wins, because it is an extremely unsettling collage of other weird films.

And if you want to treat yourselves to a seriously f'ed up cinematic experience, dig up a danish TV series called "Riget" ("Kingdom"). Some of the first stuff Lars von Trier (Dogville, Antichrist) made and never topped, if you ask me. It's a horror series set in a huge hospital. Be sure to grab the original Trier one, not the crappy american remake!

I had no problems with Eraserhead, and Riget made me ill. Look away at the birth scene, FYI

"And what is wrong with their life? What on earth is less reprehensible than the life of the Levovs?"
- American Pastoral, Philip Roth

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.

That explains everything. And Id vote for that to be the strangest, just because of its origins
