I guess people better boycott the Inquisition stuff in protest!

Not that I am a big Inquisition fan or anything, but there seem to be a crap-ton more WH and DH armies in our local tournaments than DE. With that in mind I can see why GW would re-release an Inquisition book before a Dark Eldar book, which is sad in my opinion because I have had two 5,000+ Dark Eldar armies and loved playing them. Only sold them because I found that they won more games than they should and liked a challenge.

Next should be a marine book anyway, shouldn't it? Isn't that the order of codices? Marine -> Non-marine -> Marine? Space Marines -> IGs -> Space Wolves -> Tyranids -> ?

I thought they always did a marine book after a non-marine book. I, for one, would love to see the Blood Angels get a book.

Tyranid
Blood Angel
Tau

Looks suspiciously like there usual pattern on marine then non marine and continue....

Fixed that for you.

All of the hardcover 1st Ed. 40k books that my group got back in 1989 started to fall apart a couple months after we got them. Most of the old Realm of Chaos books too.

Sorry to hear about your negative experience with the older books, but I think you need to own that complaint and not attribute it to me or anyone else. I did not say that and personally, I own several GW books purchased roughly 20 years ago and they are all still intact even after much use and long years. Sorry to hear your experience was not as good, but my complaint was strictly about the problem regarding the new printer GW started using a couple years ago.

If Codex: Daemonhunters becomes Codex: Grey Knights. i.e. Codex: Silver Space Marines (who fight Daemons) then there's a spot for them just after Codex: Tau.

Just putting that concept out there...

All the book needs is a plastic Grey Knight sprue, like the Space Wolf one and maybe plastic Grey Knight Terminators with Halberd and Thunder hammer options. Sounds like an easy release to me.

GKs have inset leg / armor detailing and don't use normal SM weapons, so a BT-type upgrade sprue doesn't work.

Grey Knights would need a full kit, like the SW Termies, and the PA GKs would need another full kit, like the DA Vets.

And needing to relese two full kits would make the whole endevour impossible? What's your angle? (like I need to ask)

No, I didn't say that. I said that it's more than a bitz sprue.

Not that GW couldn't and wouldn't re-theme Grey Knights if it means they can just use plastic Space Marine sprues and an add-on sprue...

It wouldn't be the first time. They used regular power armoured marines in Rogue Trader for their Slaves to Darkness list. That list didn't even have Grey Knight Terminators.

Jesus Christ.

If GW goes *back* to the RT-era LatD StD "most GK have NO Psychic Ability" Grey Knights list, I'm literally going to march over to Gav's house and stuff C: DH up his ass sideways.

The whole DH all-Psykers all-the-time turned me away from playing a RT-era-themed GK army.

If GW reverses this, I'm going to be pissed.

Really, the GK fluff and design is excellent. It's just the horribly, horribly outdated wargear and poorly written rules.

Personally, I'd welcome a new inquisition codex, if it meant the end of the mass produced, standard issue in virtually every imperial force, inquisitor and mystic. Or at least raised the cost of adding them to the point where it was a very significant investment of points, enough to deter their inclusion in most cases.

Brimstone was talking of scheduled release of either DE or necrons in late 2010

Confirmed or close to it.

Jan- Tyranids

Feb- Beastmen

march-Mission Book (concurrent IG SM and Ork model releases)

April- Blood Angels

(and here it gets fuzzy)

Later-Tau (harry's hint, droning on, and now dakka's own gonads as well.)

Something else for marines(rumors so far are not specific enough for a positive ID or timeframe. May be after tau, may not be. Many are assuming codex because of the usual Marine, non- marine pattern and obsessive hopes for DE or Necrons.)

Fall-Fantasy 8th edition (lots of buzz lately) would make it "a fantasy year" (again harry and brimstone as well I believe) even if there aren't many army books released, however ogre kingdoms and tomb kings I've heard hints of.

If DE do arrive in 2010 then they will be the "5th or even 6th codex" (from harry-warseer) but GW's track record is 2 a year recently, We can hope they are focusing on a faster update schedule and this will change, leaving room for the speculative necrons, or grey knights/sisters however those in the know have refrained from commenting on inquisition other than "being worked on", there is however a strong case on the rumor mill for necrons hitting before DE, and probably before the end of 2010.

With Brimstones "It would be inadvisable to assume that" quote it makes you think that it's the Necrons that migh (obviously he can't come out and say one or the other) If I remember though didnt Jervis say that DE were before Necrons at a Games Day?

I hope not, as I have a 2000 point grey knight army :(

No Way, they would and could not pull something that big. The entire SOB rework and new GKs just a few years back would be a waste if they tried to "Lost and the Damned" the whole Ordo "Faction". If anything they would be able to combine the full Inquisition into one book and sell a ton of minis all over again. Just look at whats about to happen with Legion of the Damned, already see people ramping up to make cash off selling them on Ebay.

And, OT, that seems like an awful lot of production in one year out of GW Design...
