I don't get the problem with pre-measuring the walkers in the first vid. He's moving right? Can't he measure the distance? I'd understand if he was casually measuring for shooting targets in range. Edit: On second viewing it also doesn't look like he moved the first WS the full measure distance so bumping it still leaves it a legal distance away. Can someone explain this to a guy who normally plays among long standing and well-trusted friends? /edit From everyone's reactions he is obviously and unashamedly cheating, which is annoying. That said, I don't like the tone of the author of the link. Absolutely no offence to TastyTaste, but it seems a wee bit puerile.

Walkers can only move 6, so he was a bit over-extended with his tape measure.

Ok. Agree on the walker. Also, in the second vid the spiders definitely end up more than 12" away. It looks like he measures his dragons are in melta range with his fingers which is downright cheeky. If his opponent, however, doesn't call him on it (it's not like he's being sneaky), based solely on these two videos, you can't really take any action against him. If you see him at the next tourney just politely ask him to stop if he tries to pull any shenanigans.

This person has had their first place finish stripped. The qualifying results have been given to the 2nd and 3rd place finishers.

Part of the problem with cheating is that people often grumble behind their back and say stuff, but they don't want to the persons face. I know I used to play Legend of the five rings with a guy who was cheating, when I started bringing it up people were like oh yeah that makes sense (stacking decks, drawing extra cards, etc..) me getting in his saying "you're a cheater" would've been much less effective than a group statement that cheating was unnacceptable and he would be banned if he continued. And if someone is being judged on sportsmanship, you may not want to question things unless it's very blatant, you don't want to be a prick, and you're probably not always watching every little thing they do as a spectator is (because you are planning your moves, thinking about the turn etc..) If the community vociferously speaks up and makes it clear they dont tolerate cheating and players who cheat to win are not respected, it keeps the onus from being solely on their opponent (who after all has a clear incentive to their opponent in trouble, flustered etc..) whereas bystanders theoretically have no interest at stake. Ultimately when a bunch of people stand up and say "NO" it sends a much stronger message than your opponent politely getting a judge.

The pre-measuring was obvious, as was the moving models back to their "close to original position".
The thing that baffles me is why he clumped everything up so much. I didn't see any template weapons but it looks to me that if he had put even 1" between models his shooters would have had range (and it's good habit I find).
Kroot Loops wrote:I think a version is someone rolling the dice and quickly picking them up, declaring that they got whatever they needed (like a 6 on move through cover). That's what I'm thinking at least
Cheating most often occurs when dice are being rolled not simply by picking them up too quick but picking up the "successful ones" before the failed ones. When this happens certain dice that were not successful are picked up with the successful ones while 1's and 2's for example are left on the table for the opponent's eyes to focus on. Without sound it is impossible to tell if this guy was doing that or not.
