I like the look of the Kans and if I were ver to do an Orky list, I'd likely max out on Kans, just because, but I just don't like Orky lists.

I can't wait to see what they've done with the Battle Missions. The 3x3 core layout is great, but I'm starting to get bored with it. Bring on the advanced objectives!

Killa Kans: Im no Ork player but I like the look of the kit, and the fact they come in 3s, the pricing isn't that bad for them either.

Deff Dread: I again like the look of this kit, ripe for conversions and wacky paint jobs, but far to expensive should be £20-£25.

Ven dread: I for one am a very big fan of this model mainly for the head, hand and plasma cannon. Pricing is acceptable.

Flash git: Meh im no Ork player

Basilisk: Im disappointed there are no new weapon options, nothings really changed from the last model. Also too expensive should be £25. (come to that the hellhound and LRD should also be £25)

Chimera: New options for it and no price change, im a fan of this.

I love the look of these Kans and Dreads.

These have a more dynamic feel than a garbage can on legs.

Even though I have 6 old Kans and 2 converted dreads I will be picking these up and maybe ebaying the old crap away, unless they come up with a way to play an army of Kans and Dreads (and yes I know about the Big Mek enabling 1 Dread as Troop)

Hi all.
The new walkers are exellent!(But the dreds are a tad overpriced IMO.)
IG vehicles , pointless revamp to extort more cash.
Flash git , complete waste of time and effort.
(Just because some sculptor re did Badrukk , we get stuck with a pointless Ork unit instead of KOOL madboyz! )

Yes I am biased, but my opinion is just as valid as anyone elses.

Battle Missions - 40K needs more missions, although if any of the missions in here are KP based then GW will have failed again.

Kanz - Awesome. I love 'em.

Dread - The blank space at the top where the hatch is looks really 'off', but other than that it's 'propa Orky!'

Ven Dread - Well... wasted opportunity really. No ML. No opposite DCCW arm. No TL-AC. No MM. Another fething TL-Lascannon. It is very pretty thought. I do like it over all (but why they had to do Marine-size heads is anyone's guess).

Chimera - Nifty upgrade. Two sprues, simpler tracks (Russ tracks I can put on in my sleep, Chimera tracks are a nightmare), and all the options right there. Only fault? No hands to hold the Heavy Stubber. Oops!

Basilisk - One of the biggest disappointments in recent times. It's just the old sprues thrown in with the new generic Chimera Chassis sprue. None of the missing arty vehicles from the Guard Codex are included - it's just the old kit with a price rise. And they decided to keep the accessory sprue in this one for some reason, even though the Basilisk is the least likely to take a Stubber, HK Missile or 'Dozer Blade. And the kit isn't even complete - the Hull Heavy bolter present on the box is not present in the kit. It is an incomplete model for a higher price than a week ago. Lazy and pathetic GW. Epic Fail.

I really like the new stuff with one exception......the Flash Git!

Are youe serious?! No 'eavy armor? I think he's wearing jogging pants behind that lame excuse for a Snazzgun! What's with the gun, man? It looks like a double-barrel shotgun forged in 1812. It's a poor excuse and for $16.50 per model, GW should be ashamed. I rarely complain about their products, but that thing is awful. After all this time of players thinking up great conversion ideas and conceptulizing how the Git is supposed to look we were bamboozled by an over-priced model with little more character than an AoBR Space Marine. Epic fail!

When I saw the pictures of the deff dred I wasn't overly impressed but I was in Warhammer World at the weekend and the staff there were putting one together. It looked AMAZING. The thing is massive, it totally dwarfs a SM dreadnought. It is tall but is just so bulky.

I am torn because I was really excited about doing 3 killa kan conversions using and a deff dread based on the penitant engine with an ork on the front, but now it seems a shame not to use the nice new plastic figures. Maybe have to do both. Curse you GW.

I saw them being built / painted yesterday and they come with loads of details. I was a bit concered they wouldn't be as good as GW is saying they are but there is no need to worry they look great.

Kanz & Dred: Love the look, love the options (two faceplates!). Like the clockwork legs. Finally a grotzooka!

Ven. Dread: Too bad about the missing weapons, but I hated the oversized heads of yore so I like the new options. But I don't play SM anymore, so this is just from a modellers perspective.

IG: Enough people have complained about the Bassie, but I'm no different. One thing though: The Earthshaker takes up an entire sprue, and each additional cannon would take up at least one as well. Would be even more pricey with three options. IMO they should just have released a standalone Manticore and be done with it.

Flash Git: Never run them, but I think the model is funny. And come on, they'll prob. release more pretty soon.

The prices of these models is utterly ridiculous. $83 dollars (AU) for a Basilisk is absurd.

I'll have to +1 the sentiments on the IG stuff. No truly huge changes, assembly of the old models wasn't an issue for me. I'm wanting a medusa and hydra very badly, not bad enough to pay Forge World prices but bad enough to pay more than chimeras that's for sure. So what does GW do, "redesign" and up the price of the basilisk? (facepalm) Increase the height of the chimera turret and throw in heavy bolters? That's it?

Count me out of this one GW.

The new Chimera seems radically improved, but the Basilisk is indeed disappointing. The Ork vehicles are big hits, with the lack of weapon options for Kans being annoying but not too harsh. The Venerable Dreadnought is incredible. In fact, it's so good that it's going to cause me to switch to Codex: Space Wolves in order to take a counts-as Bjorn.

I'm liking the dreads and kans, however I think the pricing on the dreads is a bit much. The IG tanks aren't much of a 'yay' for me, I'm just not interested in them.

However the Venerable Dread is what I've been needing for my Iron Warriors army, nice big chunky armour, perfect!

I think they're a lil late on all 3 of those models.

The new Ork stuff does look nice tho, the one that comes with 3 models is tempting.

As for Dreds for space marines, with the AOBR ones costing about $10 each, it's kinda hard to shell out even $35-$40 for any other. Yes more options are nice, but I don't play where they enforce "what you see, is what you get". If given the choice of paying the cost of the new dred kit, I think I'd opt for the extra $20+ to get the ForgeWorld space wolves one first too, if I was looking to shell out $50+ for one.

I like all the new ork kits. I'm a little indifferent to the re-release of the IG stuff, but what-ev. The venerable dreadnought is cool because it's basically forgeworld styling on the cheap. It cost me about $65 shipped when I ordered my grey knight dreadnought from forgeworld. Not to mention it could make a really rad chaos dreadnought (I hate the GW one).

Not really.

Compare older sprues, like the Basilisks, to more modern ones (Space Wolves). See the amount of wasted space on the old ones? Their new CAD programs make the sprues themselves a lot more efficient. You could probably fit 150% to 200% more bitz on the Space Marine Command Sprue now than you could back when it was designed. And besides, an Earthshaker wouldn't be one sprue, there would be a 'artillery sprue' that contains components for a large gun, and each of the various guns (Medusa, Colossus, Griffon, Basilisk) would use the same parts (like how the Shadowsword kit has 6 different guns, and of them 5 of them are made from combining the same 3-5 bits in different ways). That's how the new Basilisk should be. What we got was a lazy piece of gak thrown in a box with a price increase.

I think the chimera kit was a neccesary re-design, but WTF with the basilisk. It has 4 spruces instead of the previous 7 (correct me if i'm wrong) for £5 more!
The reason it still includes the upgrade sprue is because thats where the gunners and crew come from for the back.
I was seriously hoping for colussus and medusa options but really i want a manticore.

The ork stuff is really good and so was the old stuff but they just don't match, but then again do orks?

The ven dred is alright but it doesn't look as venurable(sc) as the old one so its not much better.

You, good sir, have a nose for business! Didn't know that about the Shadowsword cannons - that's great Lego mentality right there. But how many parts (except the mount) can you really switch around between an Earthshaker (long and thin), a Colossus (fat and stubby) and a Griffon (tiny)?
