So what are you opinions on what's to come?

personally, I am mighty impressed by the deff dread and killa kans, i think they look great and go really well with the Ork style, so a big green thumbs up from me there!

However, although it does look VERY good, I am less impressed with the range of options on the Ven. Dread, I mean, the dreanought itself looks very good and there are a wide range of aesthetic options by what GW are saying, however I am very unimpressed at the lack of weapon options. I mean the multi-melta and autocannon(s) are, in my opinion, probably the most commonly used weaponry and yet we still have to go to Forge-World for them?! I'm glad they included more weapons than before, but not exactly the one's I (and I expect others) wanted...

Also, I am unimpressed by the new IG tanks, the basilisk and chimera look (to me, a non-guard player atleast), exactly the same as they did before and dont have any of the rumoured options, such as components for medusa's or other commonly used IG tanks...

Finally, I dont agree with the pricing on the Deff Dread or Basilisk, I think it's a good deal with the Kan's particularly, but I dont understand why they would price two single and average sized vehicles at £30, other than that they would sell less.

So am I just being overly critical or does anyone else agree with me?

Don't like the new Ork vehicles, they look like they were drawn by a five year old.
New Ven Dread looks aweful, can't place finger on it but it's not right.
Basilisk. Why rerelease a kit that has now change to it?
Chimera, looks OK, haven't ruined it as much as I thought they might. Nice for it to include all weapon options. Wish I hadn't spent £18 on FW HB turrets!!!
Am liking the Flash Git.

That Venerable Dreadnought just saved me a bunch of money on buying Forge World Grey Knight Dreadnoughts and putting GK Terminator heads in there.

Not liking the armor plates with names on the dread, though.

Orks, meh. They're Orks, so I don't care about them at all.

Deff dread and killa kans look great but still not a fan of the legs still they look like mechanical chicken legs. Maybe its just me but i will convet them to crab legs thanks to Stump. The rest are kinda meh no excitement. It is nice to see a flashgitz model but not extremely necessary as you could just convert Nobz pretty easily. Basilisk looks.... the same. Chimera is ok Ven. dread is just kinda yawn.

I rather like the Ork walkers. They look like the traditional metal ones with updated Orky bling.

The Venerable Dreadnought doesn't have the right feet, I think. Plus its legs are kind of long. I like my Dreadnoughts with stumpy legs. Maybe it's just the scenic base it's been packaged with.

Yay! Tripple Killa Kans! I just couldn't justify spending 100 bucks on a squad. I will defenitely be picking those up at some point.

I like the look of the new Ork walkers. Unfortunately I already have a bunch of the old Kans so these new ones would look completely out of place in my army. I do wonder how tall the deff dread is, it looks giant going by the 60mm base at the bottom, 1.5x as tall as the old one. The option for grotzookas for kans is still unfortunately lacking, and there is only 1 of each weapon in the kan box so you can't equip your kans identically with the parts from 1 box, which is really lame.

The ven dread doesn't look that good but I didn't like the old one either. I don't like heads on dreads.

The flash git looks pretty terrible. Looks like he's holding a double-barreled musket instead of the machine gun he should be, and a single metal model would look terrible if you made a squad out of them.

As far as the IG tanks go, I think they are actually identical, it's just that they're supposed to be in fewer parts or otherwise easier to assemble and might have a few more little accessories.

Their orks. Do you really want them all to be carrying identical weapons? I mean sure outfit them the same, but if all the guns look the same its just LAME!

I am kinda shocked that the kans come in 3s I am pretty pumped about it. They only come with 3 weapon options but what ork player doenst have a ton of extra weapons laying around to use to make whatever weapons they want. I dont have any kans or dreads yet and I am pretty happpy that I dont. Getting 3 boxes of kans and a dread or 2 will add alot of points to my army.

Why is the Baslisk £10 more than the Chimera? Strewth, it's only a difference of a sprue. As for the Dread, it's £30, for a single plastic kit!! That's just mad, you're simply not getting enough in the box to warrant that. You can have three Kans for a little less than that, but you seem to get a good bit more for your dosh even if they are a bit smaller.

Exaclty. I am so pumped about this. I'm going to get some of my other projects out of the way so I'm ready for them in March.

Oh man, htis is going to be so awesome!!!!!!! so-awesome.

Jeez, this is just fantastic. I can't describe how happy this makes me.

I might even get two sets.

AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I actually don't recommend a dread unless you have a specific plan. I modified the one in AoBR for my orks and it just doesn't seem to accomplish much, except drawing fire. Thats an expensive firemagnet.

Little harsh, eh? Your criticisms are fairly vague. The Dread is awful but you don't know why? It looks to me like they have added detail, turned the DCCW into something that actually looks like it can grip, added aesthetic options etc. . I don't see many areas where things got worse.

Basilisk I agree. This kit looks identical, and I am disappointed my guard didn't get flashy changes to their vehicles. I was definitely hoping for more.

Personally I love the killa kans and deff dread, but that is definitely a matter of stylistic taste. I can see why you don't like it, but I wouldn't say they were done by a 5 year old. They are obviously skillfully done, but like I said, I can see where you don't like the style.

Chimera is same as basilisk, hasn't changed much, and I again was hoping for more. The turret looks a bit taller, but other than that I am just grateful that they have simplified the assembly. There aren't enough changes really to say they "haven't ruined it as much as I thought they might". So they ruined it a little bit? How do you mean? It looks like the old chimera to me--what don't you like about the new kit?

Gwar: I'm going to quit while I can.

Meh, close enough

Since I just put together a basilisk, it looks like they just redid the sprues to have less side/tread assembly; same for the chimera. Granted I LIKE less track bits sticking to my fingers

But I don't see much else different about the IG, now the ork and dred stuff looks good. My opinion on that can be deflated as I haven't played an ork with more than one of either so to them.

-Any terrain containing Sly Marbo is dangerous terrain.
-Sly Marbo once played an objective mission just to see what it was like to not meet every victory condition on his own.
-Sly Marbo bought a third edition rulebook just to play meat grinder as the attacker.
-Marbo doesn't need an Eldar farseer as an ally; his enemies are already doomed
-Sly Marbo was originally armed with a power weapon, but he dropped it while assaulting a space marine command squad just so his enemies could feel pain
-Sly Marbo still attacks the front armor value in assault, for pity's sake.

Liking the kans and deffdread a lot, definitely getting some. Curious about the battle missions book and wondering what, if any, special rules will be added to the armies and missions. The flash git? One, not a squad? Unless there's some rules changes to make them interesting, what's the point?

Something doesn't feel right with the Dread/Kan legs.

I'm getting some 2nd edition/Rogue Trader vibes from the new Deff Dread as well Oh and my first reaction before enlarging the picture was that it looked like an angry pumpkin with arms - whether that's good or bad is another question.

Hmmmm, Flash Git........ It's neat, but just one? Hm. A 5 man box with a ton of options would have been a lot more enticing, I'd buy one just for conversion opportunities... Having no intention of actually using them.

I'm not too keen on the ork stuff. The flash git isn't bad but I expected his gun to have more dakka. This just looks like a shotgun. I'm used to the Flash Gitz from DoW, but I get the feeling they're modeled more like lootas then gitz.
Deff Dread & Killa Kans: liked the kan model the way it was, this looks less orky to me. I think they resculpted them to match the deff dread.
Ven. Dread: Generally I like it. Didn't like the painted on lettering, but you can paint the thing any way you darn well please.
new Chimera: I didn't pay much attention to guard before but this looks no different from the old one. Would have to ask a guard player if its an improvement when it comes to options.
new Basilisk: Did GW rerelease this just to up the price-point? that's what it seems like to me.

Kan kit looks fantastic, especially as a 3-pack. The dread looks solid, not that I'd field one.

Flash git? One, single, metal flash git with no variatons? With a twin-linked shoota variant that doesn't even look special?
So to field the squad of 10, it's only 10 30$ kits of identical models... great. If you're not going to try to make fieldable units GW, don't bother.

Venerable dread looks alright, I'm not a huge fan of all the scrollwork or head-dreads in general but I don't play SM.

Now the Chimera and Basilisk kits, those are hilarious. A new kit with new sprues... to change the side paneling and simplify construction on existing tank models slightly? Seriously? And all while the army is missing half a dozen major and popular vehicle options in the standard GW catalog, along with dozens of other models for other armies. Aweful.

Overall, the walkers are fine. Everything else is a disappointing joke.

Those Kans and both dreads are lovely sculpts. I love how the Kans are so much more active looking and look like they could actually fight in combat. Also they seem to be priced almost cheaply for once. Under £10 for a vehicle model :O. The Deff Dread looks amazing, I love how it has an Orky profile now instead of being a tin can on legs. The SM dread is awesome, this may be because I for one actually like the helmeted dread models.

The Chimera looks the same, glad to see it now has all the options. AND at no rise in price. The Basilisk is fail really. Same model as before just easier to assemble and more expensive.

This is a pretty mediocre release. Four great plastic kits, a re-release with ZERO improvements for the fan (one can make the argument the bassie got worse: simpler parts -> harder conversions), a book with three 'God-I-hope-these-aren't-rabidly-biased' missions per army plus another three general ones (yay for... 18 combinations of deployment and mission type), and the MOST USELESS metal figure to come out for quite a long time. One, just one, metal Ork with an option not listed in the codex so it must be counts-as... git finda? Could have been better but it also could have been a whole lot worse.
