Honestly, it was all about the original red and blue pokemon. Those were awesome. After that, I ran out of patience for memorizing them all.
My real question is why can pokemon be turned into what appears to be energy and stuffed into a tiny ball, yet people can't?

Not really, I still play my silver game on occasion and have tried the other games. The pokemon just got really stupid looking after Silver.

Mewtwo was still better  Mew has very decent stats all the way across and can learn any move, but Mewtwo had a couple slightly lower and several higher as I remember with a movepool that was good enough anyway.

One thing I have realized about Pokemon:
1) They never seem to die.
2) They all evolve at one point or another.
3) They can't "de-evolve".
4) They don't seem to reproduce.
This would mean that all Pokemon would eventually end up in their final evolved form. And, as far as I know, they have been around forever, so they would all have evolved into their final form by now.
Thoughts?

All Pokemon breeding has taken place off camera up until this point. I've heard Nintendo may consider releasing Pokemon Satin, Pokemon Leather, and Pokemon Lace to cover this neglected area. They're being held up by the question of which Pokemon can cross-breed, and which cross-breeds will be true species. Then there is the issue of the 'missing link' caused by highly evolved Pokemon dumpster diving with their less evolved brethren. By all accounts, the creation of a Snorlaxxx is horrifying to witness.
(I hope with my whole being that this is complete nonsense.)

Seems to me like the first 150 were mostly based on real/mythical animals with a twist or a clever name. Then, they expanded with stuff like onix evolving into something else in the next gen, which was ok, I guess. But after that you really do get these weird robot things that aren't based on anything real or from mythology that just run together in my mind.
I enjoyed them up through silver/gold (except yellow, cause I hate that stupid rat thing following me). So, maybe I'll borrow a DS and play through the reboot of silver/gold.

What? Magenmite was a magnet. Thats not a real creature or a myth. Voltorb was just a giant pokeball. Tangela was just seaweed. The original games had just as much weird crap. What the hell was koffing supposed to be?

I think it was supposed to be like a living mine with explosive gases or something. Slightly ot, but what's your favourite pokemon? Mine was evee. It was so cute, and could eolve into lots of ifferent things.
