I've used the hierophant both with the old and new rules. At 10K, with the old rules, he just doesn't live. You need to add in a venomthrope in there to make him a little more survivable, and even that doesn't help that much.

With the new 3++ WF, he just doesn't die. He is ridiculously powerful with it, and worse of all, he draws all the enemy fire meant for the other bugs.

There is no absolutes in how to run his Warp Field. You just have to compromise and adjust your apoc games to make it more balancing. Some reasonable compromises:

1) Raise his cost. I'd say to at least 2000pts if you want to play him with the 3++.

2) Reduce Warp Field to 5++. If you want to reduce it to 4++, I'd probably hike his price to 1500-1750pts.

3) Give him 3++ but reduce his regular armor save to 3+ as well. That'll be more in-line to the current Warp Field. Hike his price to about 1750pts.

Thanks jy2. I realize that the 3++ will make him quite powerful, hence the price hike. About 2k is what my gaming group has agreed with for the next test game. If it proves too powerful we can always change it for next time. I'm actually liking the 4++ with the lower price tag. D weapons have a chance to be stopped but not so much that the bio-titan is completely indestructible. Will put it to the others. Thanks again.

And thanks for your opinion kill dem stunties, but seriously, stop trolling. You haven't really added anything to the thread except to claim that warp field doesn't work and that I'm a tfg. My gaming group is willing to give it a try and that is really all that matters. I opened this thread for a solution, not to be ranted at.

Well, I'd say it'd be nice if Forgeworld or even GW could bring the Bio-Titan up to speed.
Similar with how units from apocalypse for the Necron got pulled into the regular 7th ed codex (well some like the Tesseract Vault and Obelisk. Proper war lords as where.. nids have to nominate a character? correct me if im wrong, haven't read the codex recently)

Well on another point, people say a 3++ Bio titan at 1000/ 1050 points would be overkill.. let me point at An'graath. he's cheaper but he's basically got that exact thing going for him right? plus he's a nightmare to face when he's up in your armies face with his 2+/3++?
Just food for though but official updates are very much needed, even if things changed or not.

Oh and curious on a side not, if playing by old rules that were most recent is fine, that could be interesting for IA 12 Necrons and some of the older weapons they've held onto, although.. I've been trying to keep it as current as possible meaning some of my units lost gear but not points.. anyway.. just had all that on my mind. Let's hope for something solid and official in the future.
