So looking at those silly cartoon porn versions of The Simpsons or Disney characters that everyone has already seen and laughed at will now get you branded a pedophile?

Give me bloody strength. This has now become the modern day version of a witch hunt. Our law makers have far too much time on their hands.

While that is true (the cartoons you speak of, not that everyone has seen them), I suppose some people may not find the humor in seeing depictions of an 8 year old being engaged in sex acts. Now Futurama where all the characters are adults....

Oh no, so I can't depict children in sexual acts in cartoons anymore? That's a hammer blow, since that took up a whole 0% of my time before now.

Almost none since it doesn't really work out like that.

Actually there's a significant amount of precedent in psychological fields that tie the availability of pornographic material to a reduction in sexual crimes.

Do you remember that time that thing happened?

There have also been studies in other fields which say the opposite. Not that I necessarily agree, just playing devil's advocate.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

"Sexual crimes" is also very vague. Can you be more specific? Was there a study that specifically showed that giving kiddy porn to pedophiles kept them from acting out? Most of the research I've read shows that it at best temporarily slows it down, but can also feed into the urge to act as well. I know that porn has had the effect you describe in some research as you mentioned, but as for as pedophilia goes it doesn't follow.

Also what Albatross wrote.

Killing people is illegal.

It has been shown that those who read about shooting up schools, play games like GTA and watch violent movies are more likely to commit murder.

Ergo, we should ban all cases of violence from the media.

What people might do because of viewing something has never been a concern beyond Restricted ratings. There is no reason not to treat lolicon the same way.
