Dredd!
Combat: High Explosive rounds or bike cannon wins it.
Character: Dredd is much more interesting and is the protagonist in a far wider variety of stories.
Chin: Dredd has the superior facebum.
Dredd wins on the three C's.

Ok just in a fight sense, discounting bikes cars and other vehicles it would be Dredd hands down, he can actually handle himself him ahnd to hand up like Robocop who just stands there and takes it. Admitly he can take a lot of damage, but Dredd probably has a pair of justice department wire clippers in those boot pouches!

Yes but robocop has well robot like strength. No contest hand to hand.

Though a fan of both, I'd have to say Dredd.
Without dredd, there would be no robocop.
Without dredd, there would be no 40k.
And I liked the Dredd movie.

I would say Judge Dread:
Human interpretation of law and had a dogged persistence in ensuring rules were followed.
He gave the impression of being "always on" and did not relent often.
He had a team and understood the importance of a team and working together for a "better society".
He seemed to adhere to the law regarding the Judge code.
Robocop:
Always seemed to deliver the law like a shopping list to be dealt with.
Tended to be a lone wolf Juggernaut when dealing with issues and bent rules in regard to himself quite often.
I remember seeing some strange comic square-off of Batman vs Judge Dread. A justice fanatic vs a law fanatic, quite fun.

Several Batman V Dredd comics were published.
I have the first two.
In the first, Batman goes to MC1 via time device and meets Dredd's fist and boots (and Mean machine and Judge Death go to gotham and meet up with the Scarecrow).
In the second, Dredd pays Bats a visit in gotham to stop him being killed because Bats is an important figure in their future history.
Don't know what the third one was about, but I do know they made one.

Stallone himself was actually one of the good influences on the Dredd film, read a lot of the comics and did a lot to retain what was maintained of the real Dredd in the film. He did not even want to take off his helmet, and certainly not kiss Hershey. Blame the director and writer for everything.

Considering they’re both commentaries on a law and order fixation producing a police state, and not subtle commentaries at that, I find the above really, really weird.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

See. Robocop used his gakky Microsoft programming to cheat that one!
Dredd has no need of steeneeng computers..he was Walter The Wobot for that sort of thing.
Plus, Robocop struggles to contain Detroit/Delta City.
Dredd? He patrols the entire Eastern Seaboard (Mega City One as it is latterly known) and still has time to save Texas City, Mega City Two, be Marshall of the Lunar Colonies, and defeat the Sov Cities multiple times.

Frank Miller wrote it. It is there-for made of 50% win. (Much as the 40k MMO is being done by Joe MAD (Battlechasers, X-Men, Darksiders) and is therefore made of 100% Win.)
