Really, really top notch work.

I'd say you strike the perfect balance between all 3 modeling styles. Airbrush, Brushwork and Sculpt. Not too much of any one, but enough synergy to do really well together.

Lovely painting and posing, they look nice Ultra marines. I personally do not like the red gun casing however, it makes them look too comical. Black is better for UMs.

They are looking great apart for the blood effect, it looks ok however it can be done far better with very little effort.

Might go over it a bit. I'm aware of the clear red method, just don't have any in. :-) The photos have washed it out a bit. :-)

That was *not* the word I said when this happened. 2 days work, not including cleanup/assembly pooched. Luckily GW will replace the purity seal and speeder, so it's just time cost really. But hey, still a pain to do all the conversion work again. :(

Wait! Check my blog, same thing, far, far worse happened to me recently, you can solve it by spraying with a gloss coat, and re-spraying with dullcoat -

That doesn't look too bad, you should be able to recover it 100%.

I don't know, MajorTom - whatever happened with the spray varnish has melted the pilot clean away!

On a serious note, sorry to hear about the varnishing trouble, winterdyne. The Storm still looks good, though.

Alas, the gloss didn't work. :( It's been in fairy power spray overnight. If it cleans off nice, it'll save the time in assembling the replacement. Stupid purity seal.

Very, very high standard of work all around man, this has to be one of the best (and more importantly consistent) commisions I've ever seen. How many more pieces do you have to go for this project?

Actually, the speeder storm is the last bit for a while on this commission - next up is a pair of forgeworld dreadnoughts to competition standard for another client. One of them will be a GD entry for this year, just to wet my feet a bit.
