Talking over his ideas for the business, I think this has tremendous potential to bring us ,here in Bristol, a hub. A centre not only to bring our mates to and game, but also to meet new players (and some mates from dakka) and establish a community.
The place is just begging for some tourneys to be organised, I'd personally love to see some Warmachine, Infinity, Malifaux and the GW specialist games brought in.
I know the dude running GW these days is a really sound guy, but it's still limited, and therefore not the FLGS we all want in Brizzle.
Inevitably, someone's going to ask this, so... I have a 40k IG army of sorts, who's up for a friendly 500pt game when this place opens?
And although I can't speak for the other games, Specialist Games-wise I'm looking forward to some Necromunda and have a Mordheim warband kicking around somewhere...
Brad is a great guy and one of the few decent store managers i have encountered through the years, he has always been as accomodating as possible to the BV when we were using the store. Unfortunately the same can't be said for his boss who is well.
I am really looking forward to looking at the different games systems as due to being in GW its kind of stiffled appitite for non GW stuff. I am selling my Fantasy finishing off my 40k orcs and then will be looking at new game systems particularly FOW. This new shop has definately come at a good time

Not in Old Market imho.
Cabots Circus is only a few minutes walk away and there is a big NCP car Park with fairly reasonable rates. After 1700 on a week day its only £2.
Heres the tarrifs:
Monday to Saturday 7am – 5pm:
£1 per hour (up to 7 hours)
Over 7 hours £16 per day
Monday to Saturday 5pm – 7am: £2
Sunday:
Up to 4 hours - £2
Up to 5 hours - £3
Up to 6 hours - £4
Up to 7 hours - £5
Over 7 hours - £16

Is the Gardener's car park usable in the evening? Haven't been down there in a fair few years but that always used to be a half decent option for that area.

Can I suggest skipping forward 10 years to the age where you don't really care about what people say on the internet. Studies show that it decreases your anger about life in general by 37%. - Flashman |

I am fairly sure that it is free to use in the evenings, but it would be worth checking what time they lock the gates!

Just a quick note to let you Bristolian Dakkites know that Cut and Thrust will be open tomorrow evening. (Thurs, 1st July) and every Thrustday henceforth.
Bristol Vanguard are having their first, of hopefully many, evening sessions there.
There will also be more than enough table space for non-members to get a game and the agreements met between both C+T and Vanguard ammount to 'The more the Merrier'.
The shop isn't quite finished and there is no stock just yet but the Vanguard are now homeless so needs must, I guess.
Pop in and say hello if you get the chance or bring some models and a friend and get playing.
It would be great to see you all there.

I am familiar with the concept of Thrust day, it's the one day of the month where Mrs Squilverine lets me........
On second thoughts I really hope that C+T's is something entirely different

And let's also hope there's no 'cut' involved in your thrusty rituals with Mrs Squilverine as well...
Otherwise I don't want to be your friend.

Meangreen, just run around constantly locked in a blessed-like bellow, then people will be able to instantly identify you...
