I put one of each tank together, definitely not a click fit. Either hammer them in, glue or handle gently if you want those things to stay. Really easy to drill a shallow 1/8" dia. hole and crazy glue in a rare earth magnet. You get to do this so much for all those options you can get it done under a minute by the time you are on your second tank. the main guns are quite nice to put magnets in but the new Russ does not play fair since it only supplies one blast shield between the three guns, I had to make some. You can ignore using it like I have seen some people do.

I don't like the look of Sponsons, so I don't bother.

I vote Heavy Bolters as that's what I would arm my LRBT with unless I knew I was playing a LR rush then multimeltas.
However my Executioner would always be plasma cannons.

That router bit (it lets you drill flat-bottomed depressions) I bought for my dremel was the best $6 I ever spent!

I field various versions, but I voted plasma sponsons.

For me it depends. My Russ MBT has heavy bolters and a stubber for maxium firepower. My executioner has plasma for more template and AP2 goodness. My demolisher runs with no sponsons, but has a lascannon so it can run with the chimera and hellhound and give support fire to armored spearhead.

They're not, the sponson weapons fall out quite easily if you don't glue/magnetize.
Practically, naked is probably the best option. But don't tell me you've never thought of running 3 demolishers, 2 with heavy flamers and 1 with multimeltas, just for the awesome/holy gak factor. (Or even better a spearhead with those three tanks)
Hmm, does anyone have any practical ideas for the multimelta sponsons? They seem cool/interesting, but I can't think of a situation where they could be worth it.

Point for point, naked is easily the best - 3 sets of MM / PC sponsons are a whole extra tank!

If I was to run a couple of standard Russes (I run Demolishers) I'd either give them heavy bolters if I wanted them to support my PIS gunline, or keep them naked to roll up with the rest of my armour. As to the hull heavy weapon; heavy flamer if naked, heavy bolter if acting as a bunker
The fact that we have options is nice, its just a shame so many of them aren't worth it. Still, gives me loadsa bits for the box!
