These look awesome for the Hunting Lances I'd be tempted to use the plain Marauder Horse Spears as I really like them but maybe adding some worky gubbins around the handle would do the trick. The vehicles are great I can'twait to see more!

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Thanks guys.

I've been framing the armour plates to try to recreate the chaos style. I'm sort of putting off making the small triangles, though i'll probably get to it this week end. I've also ordered a Havok Launcher so i can convert it to a missile launcher. but we'll see how it looks on the tank when i get it.

Just a note on an upcoming project. I bought one of these to use as a sentinel too. I've gotten rid of all the steampunk stuff and have ordered some nid weapons to convert. I figured it's bird like appearance made it suitable as a tzeentch daemon. I'm also thinking of doubling it usability by making it a chaos spawn in my CSM army.

This thread shows an unusual amount of promise. I'm subscribing right now, and after that I will cross my fingers in hopes of many updates. Normally I would offer up a little advice but judging by your designs I think you've got this one covered. Keep them coming!

Ok so i've finally got some time to update this project.
1st off I've nearly finished my rough riders. The only thing I think I'll add to them is to tech them up a bit with some wires. I also changed the arm on the flamer guy to match the others.
I had thought about adding the explosives to the lances bit I think anything i add would detract from the lance. At the moment I'm considering just painting them like power weapons. though I'm open to suggestions.

I've now got a base for my stalk tank. The only thing that's missing is the barbed wire, though perhaps a little more drama in the base might work.

My chimera conversion is progressing slowly though i have had some ideas I'm still working them out. i intend to put another 2 of those supporting braces on either side of the back.
I'm thinking of building some kind of psychic relay/amplifier next to the guy but i don't know what something like that would look like.

I've taken the steampunk stuff of the thing. I bought some tyranid guns though nothing seems to work. i'm thinking of leaving it as is.

I started some test painting over the weekend and am quite pleased with the results though i think i need to introduce another colour for detailing, particularly for lights and vehicles atm i'm considering a copper colour of perhaps a green

Any thoughts?

Cheers guys

@privateherbert24: the Thing is from the smog 1880 range. My original intention was to give it a gun and proxy it as a sentinel though I'm afraid anything I do to it will ruin it. It was also going to double as a chaos spawn.
The one on the left has a kroot satchel though I had to extend it with green stuff. the one in the middle has a CSM accessory. but those are kroot knives too.

@Shadowbrand: broadly speaking yes

I like the clean paint job on your guardmen... maybe too clean for traitors?

The stalk tank is awesome, I think the hunting lances defo need more work, all the effort you have put into your other models seems a shame to cop out!!

Thanks guys

@Scrazza: yeah it's been a while. but that's just how things are.

@Tortured-Robot: I have been told that they're too clean for traitors and will probably remedy that when i base them by dirtying them up to the knee, i may also experiment with armour chipping.
As far as the lances go do you have any suggestions? i don't know if i can come up with something to match the look and feel of the lances they have. I don't think they would want to destroy them as some of them are quite ornate, and each lance is different meaning a single approach would look out of place.
I was toying with the idea of making them electrified with warp energies, like a one shot uber taser. Mounting a powerpack near the hand and running a cord up to a connector with the blade but i don't know if people would understand what it was.

@sennacherib: yeah I've read most of it though haven't read the last couple of books

Hey carp, loving the stalk tank, that said im not really sure where the idea came from or anything, but it does look suitably lethal, also do you mind slipping what model range that freaky spindley beast is from, I want one.

Everywhere I'm not supposed to be.

I really like these guys, especially the clever use of random bits for the "backpacks". As for the clean paintjob, I enjoy it. Just because they're followers of the ruinous powers doesn't mean they lack discipline

If you need me, I'll be busy wiping the layers of dust off my dice.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Looking good. The stalk thank looks great. I think the rough riders may need some more tech to fit them into the 40K scene. Perhaps a backpack mounted powerpack for the lances with wires connected to the lance? (and since it is chaos, perhaps also running through the arms as well? )

The regular troops look nice if a little too clean. I think perhaps some chaos runes or suchlike would fix that without having to paint lots of other stuff over them.
