Heh, I can't help but grin. This is going to be one hell of a Titan Scratch-Build when it's done. See PM, by the way!

Ok, I have done a little bit of work on the titan this morning and have started the sub structure for the shin/ankle area. I mixed up a load of green stuff thinking "I will quickly get these bits glued together and then smooth it all over" but it was not to be. It seems that toothbrushes don't believe in having things glued to them

I ended up having to pin the fronts of the shin in place using some toothpicks (the theory being that the glue soaks into the wood and so sticks it in better - that and they will be easier to trim than metal pins ) and using the green stuff to make some cobbled street (which I will be casting in plaster later and using towards the end of the project).

So, the progress so far (which is not much due to glue-non-stick issues):

The back section of the shins are all ready to go once the front has managed to stick well enough to the toothbrush (I will add in several more layers of glue to make sure ). You can also see the cobbles setting in the background.

I also used some of the excess GS to fill in a few gaps around the neck and shoulders (not shown).

Since I've not managed to do much work, here is a bonus WIP picture of my second Lugganath avatar:

I wanted a different pose to the standard "standing and hitting with sword", so I chopped and bent the hell out of the legs and loin cloth, as well as chopping and reposing the arm, and adding in an extra "pack" in the stomach (now he is mega "ripped" ).

Thank you

By spending about 10 minutes using a power drill to carefully drill a hole in his foot and up his leg (while trying not to either burn myself, or drill out the side and into my fingers)

And there is a piece of stiff wire running from the base up inside the ruined wall/mound and into said foot

Ah, yeah, I just noticed myself. Very nice piece of work there, should be awesome when it's done. Suggestion! I think you should Green-Stuff some Flames, sweeping back from the Sword there. Not only will the Fire show his Power, but - sweeping backwards quite far and thinning out as they go - they will show his forward motion brilliantly! What do you think?

Sounds like a good idea - I may well do that.

This looks pretty cool. I might have to give it a try later to as the local store I go to just got a Reaver and a Warhound; first Titans of the store. Needs more Xeno appreciation

Been a loooooooooooong while since I have done anything on this, for which I apologise

As you no doubt imagine my brother has not received a nice, fully built titan (he went to the far east for a few months and is now going on a walkabout in Australia - the git ). You may also note that my desk is as tidy as ever

So I basically stopped working on this. However, since getting some DAS clay, my attention has returned, as DAS is the perfect medium for getting the smooth curves required for this project, as well as being easily sandable.

So, without further delay, some pictures of the small amount of work I have done on this titan:

Redid the hips as the old version was a bit too "underpants".

Work on the legs goes well with the ankle sections nicely bulked out with curvy guards. The rear vents have been added, though obviously more work needs to be done in terms of adding extra fins, jets and so on. Also neatened up the knee joints.

A start on the "lost city" themed base.

Very cool, Silver. Scratch-building is something I aspire to do one day. I'll be watching to see how this comes together.

Thanks for the comments guys. Got a few days this week when the wife is not around, so I hope to use them to finish off the legs and feet and make a start on the jump pack/back spines.

Just wanted to ask people if they thought the back spines looked suitable before I start actually making them:

Also, I've added some small fins to the ankles. Going to crack on with sculpting the thrusters while I wait for replies to my question.

I think the back spines should all have the little lip on the upper part like the second spine from the top. Other than that, the sizing looks good and proportionate. This is looking awesome!

Cheers gman - they did all have lips on when I drew it out, but the card ripped where I had not completely cut through it when I was removing it from the sheet

Looking at it on the screen, the middle spine needs to be thicker and slightly lowered and turned.

I agree on the middle spine, but I think the others look good!

Sculpted the rockets on the shins as well as added some more soul stones on the ankle guards.

The rocket on the far left was the first one I did - for some reason I could not replicate it, but all the others match, so I will try and file them down to match the first one (which I think looks the best) when they are all dry.

Also started the sculpting on the mounts for the hip shields - will have to wait until they dry and harden before I finish them off:

Also cut out and have started bending the hip, nut and butt shields:

Ok, a bit of progress on the titan (with blurry pictures - curse you lack of light!):

We now have some feet! Just got to fill the "insides" of the feet and sculpt a little bit of detailing and they should hopefully be done:

And from the front:

Decided that I didn't like the waist, so have ripped it all apart and will re-jig it later. Finished the waist armour supports and need to do the same work on the other "raised" leg:

Limbs assemble!

I think that the thigh section may be a bit too long - though that may be fixed when I add in a bit more to the waist/torso section. The pose will be a kind of "landing, twisting and shooting" look... if you can imagine that

If I ever finish it, it should be between 25cm high from what I remember.

I really need to get my "doing modeling" head on

I do bits and pieces of projects, rather than sitting down and getting on with a single thing. Given that I am still waiting for Terminator bits to do my TS Marines, and my terrain projects are on hold as I am storing furniture in the room I do my modeling in (curse you furniture!), I could always pick up the old Eldar Titan project again.

After all, it is "almost" finished

I think the threadnomancy has been a good thing in this case...

thanks for the info, only asked as i'm attempting a wooden artist mannequin version and cant find any dimensions for revenants online. I'm aiming for 30cm to eye level. And i know exactly what you mean about finding time and storing furniture etc in your creative space. I've ended up taking everything to work to find space lol

Probably your best bet with the mannequin technique is removing the feet and the "hip" section (as the hips on the Revenant is much different to the structure of the mannequin) and probably also the head (which is too big).

This will shorten it down and also give you a much better shape to base your work on.

At least IMO.
