Most of the responses here remind me why I dont mix my personal life with my gaming life. Some gamers are more open minded than the norm, but some....just arent. Guess thats just how most of the world works, expectin the gamers to be better than that, is sort of silly.

Sorry you have an off key interpretation of events in this trajedy.

1. Its not a good way to die. We know this is most likely the case because the victim was 31, she was to young to die and nothing indicated it was a suicide bid. Not exploring that last bit any further.

2. If she died as a result of her 'pleasure' the dildo might have been fouind elsewhere other than beside her. Perhaps it happened afterwards, or more likely started to happen during and the girl began to panic.

3. Strokes etc are not instant or painless in most circumstances, there is time for panic, time for pain and in this young womans case time to think. 'This is how I will be found'. I guess this sort of panic is what might have been going through her mind while she tried to discard the sex device.

She implied it with her commentary in the OP, reinforced by telling all those who had problems with how the story was handled to 'get over ourselves'.

However I doubt you can be any size equired and perform as long as a good battery. So your news is no news.

Males are "losing out" in the Uk, but to lesbians. Many teenage and 20's women are turning lesbian, apparently more than the 10% au naturelle would account for.
I think this is because they are sick of 'chav', while female chavettes exist in the underclass, most middle class boys nowdays are also chavs wheras the girls largely are not.
Chavs think they are the answer to everything, ultimate racers, players, lovers etc. They are sadly mistaken. Many young women are now choosing to 'go girl' in preference to accedpting a chav lover where non-chav males are in short supply.

I was forgetting, women should just lie back and think of England.

Noise of ectstatic woman with sex toy scares the horses scandal. Man alive

The problem is with some males dealing with the idea of a woman enjoying sex. shock horror.

Where does the OP imply that she thought the death of the woman was amusing? In any case have you never heard of the expression dark humour.

Good grief sex AND death. Two taboos for the price of one. BOGOF

Yep- I stand by my statement that some people need to get over themselves. Orlanth tops the list in this thread

No where did I say 'hahahahaaha some tard choked on her sex toy and died....'

Its a damn tragedy, seriously. For the obvious reasons. But also because she took the secrets of her skills with her.

But maybe, just maybe, hte next time some of you are playing GTA and youre running around pimp slappin ho's with that odd double ended purple device- you'll respect the potential of that item just a bit more.

Im going to try to get a law passed, the Pleasure Device Control act, obviously we need some regulation, serial numbers, taxes and all that on these things. Should set some size restrictions as well, have to look out for the safety of the m asses and reaffirm to male egos that they wont be replaced by said devices. Im calling my senators right now. Can get this thing rolled into Obamacare if we act fast enough!

And, at this point- I hope its apparent Im not mocking the girls death. It happened, she died, the only one that can save her now is Dr Who. I cant change it. Death of others is part of life, always has been. Talking about it and making humor of it is also part of human nature-a celebration of still being alive and that 'it happened to the other guy'.

Conversely- on a similar note- so is making fun of people that react to things like they have a stick up thier butt. Which I guess is sort of on topic if they do i so well it may not be acting!

Ha. Kind of rude, really. I'm sure everyone who knows her is totally embarrassed for her....Although, It makes me ask so many more questions that probably aren't my business.
1. What was she watching that could make her kill herself? Lacey duvalle?
2.Did she have a heart problem or something?
3. Was she married? I blame the husband for neglect if so

Also....Are you a woman mistress? That would give me a better perspective of your perspective

I see what you're saying there. I'm holding you to "we won't be replaced"

The news media really is trolling us.
Of all the stuff that should make the head lines going on the world today , this womans family has to get flamed because she needed a little DIY pick me up?
Oil Spills, Earth quakes, Wars, Jo Lo in a parade had a flat tire, Branjelina plot sickens yet more.
We should be able to buy tags for paparazzi and other news gimps, and hunt them seasonally with paintball guns. The media truely is out of control.
That.......po........unfortunate woman, cant say poor cause you know she was smiling for at least part of it.
my twisted mind is actually wondering if the police found her with the device on, or if it ran out of batteries........
NVM shame on the media!!!

Thinking about it, I don't care if a newstory gets published about my death: Man found dead in bedroom apparently from auto-asphixiation. The one-legged midget hooker who called 911 commented "At least they were able to save the hamsters, the poor little things" It saves me the trouble of putting on my tombstone "Had more fun dying than you will"

However that's my own personal opinion. That woman might not have felt the same way and it sucks that they made that decision for her. Do I find the story itself funny? Absolutely, but the reality is that her and her family most likely don't have the same opinion.

That's what bugs me, someone decided that this woman's death could make a bit of money, and so they waived the usual standards or journalistic respect and integrity. It's part of a broader problem and it makes me really irritable.

Interesting...

If a paper in Canada or a news site ran a story like this without the family's consent, the paper could be sued up the corn-hole for breach of privacy. It would likely lose it's publishing privaledges as well.

Does the parent nation have the same legal protection for it's citizens? If so, I imagine that's the last we'll be hearing from that news source.

A pint of beer and a walk on the beach went a long way towards easing it, and I reckon it was probably cheaper than the alternative.

But, and I believe this point was made earlier, they needn't be.
The poor lass was found with erotica because of the tragic timing of her death.

Is there really anything to be embarrassed about?

Whether or not society views the matter as shameful is irrelevant, what matters is whether or not the family and friends of the deceased view the matter as shameful. Now, its possible that said family and friends were contacted regarding the details to be printed, but I sincerely doubt that.

Yes but the concept of shame is a cultural construct.
Again they may well feel deeply embarrassed by the way the woman was found. But that sense of shame is due to socially shared values.

In fact what the girl was doing in the privacy of her own home is not that unusual.

Societies hypocritical view on the matter is actually very relevant.

Cultural constructs require nothing more than social interaction. Like, say, the social interaction between friends and family.

If a given group of people believes that others may look poorly upon them for the violation of a perceived taboo, then that belief is not necessarily the result of external social pressure. It can emanate exclusively from within the cultural group in question; ie. the people who believe that thing X is taboo may be the only people that believe thing X is taboo, and therefore desire the existence of thing X to be concealed from the outside world, regardless of whether or not the outside world is at all interested.

Chibi Bodge-Battle wrote:

Why are you presuming that something has to be unusual in order to be considered taboo, or shameful?

Moreover, why is it hypocritical to consider a thing taboo or, more probably, stimulating when also engaging in that action; especially when said engagement if for the purpose of stimulation?

Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.

Taboos are by definition social. You previously stated that it was the family setting that views of society are irrelevant.

There may indeed be certain subjects which are frowned upon within a family that are accepted by society. Sex is not one of them.

You have misunderstood the use of the word normal.
I said that saying that watching pornography and aoto-eroticism are not unusal, ie is COMMON behaviour.

Your final question doesn't make any sense Dogma.
Holding beliefs that erotic acts are shameful, or expressing those beliefs whilst one engages in such acts is hypocritical.

Society is a funny word. It can refer to the whole of humanity, or the sum of a small group. The fact that I choose to use it flexibly is merely a function of that.

Chibi Bodge-Battle wrote:

It isn't? I know many people who have found solace in the non-familial acceptance of their sexual exploits.

Chibi Bodge-Battle wrote:

And therefore normal, in at least one sense.

Chibi Bodge-Battle wrote:

No, its not. If you cannot appreciate the distinction between shame and desire, then this whole conversation is a waste of my time.

One can knowingly, and joyfully, engage i shameful behavior.
