Fellblade, don't worry. Kanluwen will find the thread eventually and leap to GW's defence.

I'm from the future. The future of space

LOL.

The odd thing is that I basically ended up reviving Warmachine among my gaming group. I convinced two friends to dig their battle boxes out of storage and gave a third some cryx stuff I had. So while I might have been the impetus for getting into Warmachine in the first place, they're into it pretty hard core now.

Though I have planted the first seeds of insurrection. Using non-PP minis with the rules is totally okay with everyone. That's the first strangle-hold to break when busting up the marriage of church and state-- sorry, I mean rules design and miniature production.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

I'm the same, I started our group on Warmachine and Hordes and now they love it. I still really enjoy it, but I look at some of the crappy models I might have to buy for gaming purposes, and I look at the pricetags, and then I look at the likes of Mantic and start to wonder...
