I always thought that Ben behaved in a completely believable fashion,sure the acting was a bit OTT,but that's Romero for you.

And,as far as "screwing the pooch",I think Ben played the cards he was dealt fairly well,all things considered,I feel his two biggest mistakes were not just saying "Feth all you people..I'm out of here",that and of course looking out of the window when the rednecks showed up.

The way he kept poking the rifle out the window at the zombies and pushing at them with it was pretty goofy. And let's not forget what happened when they tried to fuel up the truck. Not that it was all his fault, but I wouldn't really want any of those people watching my six. Except maybe the guy who thought they should go into the basement. He was right the while time.

Cut the guy some slack. They didn't have the reference material we had, and he figured out pretty damned quick that the little girl was going to be a problem.

Wanna hear my team choice? My friends Joe and Austin, my 3 navy friends who fly helicopters.

Night of the Living Dead is an entertaining movie, I just dint find the characters to be all that believable.

Harry Cooper,he would have been the first guy I'd have shot,obviously a self serving little cowardly weasel of a man,being locked in the basement with him and his anoying wife would have been worse than walking around outside the farmhouse covered in beef gravy...but yes,he was "right" concerning the basement being the "safest place to hide."

Which has since proven to be the worst place. Attic, roof, opr top floor is so much better.
