Im actually pretty pissed that the assassin didnt win you anything.

Its something new that hasnt been done before.
Its well executed.
The painting is brilliant.
It has a comedy value like no model ive seen before.

Of all my entries, that was the one I thought would do the best. I just put the spider in for fun, and I really didn't think it would do well. I guess they just weren't really looking for comedy this year.

As for the assassin... i can see exactly why it didn't win.
Although it's well done, and well executed (no pun intended), the fact is that it goes to a place with it's comedy that GW fluff doesn't tend to go. GW takes themselves & their fluff seriously. By inserting the humor in it, you killed your changes.

It's like painting baby blue Khorne berzerkers... You can have the best painted model in the category. It can look like your model is about to just get up & walk away. If you took a huge step away from fluff, you're not going to win it.

Just my thoughts, of course.

Thanks everyone. And I'm aware that it was funny, but a lot of things that have won at GD are funny. Take the Carnifex diorama that won in Britain this year. Or the Rhinox rider on the icey lake with the frozen dog underneath it. Or almost anything that's ever had an Orc/Ork in it. But I'm not going to argue. These things happen.
