The only time it really bugs me is when the entire other team is doing it.

But if it's a sniper/precision game then I'm fine with it.

If the other team is doing it entirely, Here comes my stealth/FFA class:
UMP with silencer
A pistol (doesn't matter which)

Sleight of Hand (I'm paranoid about reloads)

Cold-Blooded Pro

Ninja Pro

Never see you coming

I've even received the comment from someone that I know there's someone behind me, but I don't see you on anything nor do I hear you.

Lesson? Don't trust technology.

Quick thing before i go, but how many people here find MW2 addictive?

Ghost - reloads happen now and then, which is why i keep a tac knife on basic pistols

Lol, so do I, I prefer it over any of the other attachments. Though akimbo USP's with extended mags is seriously fun.

And the reason I'm paranoid about reloads is because I just shoot off a massive number of shots.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

I'm not usually a sniper on my 360 as my thumb skills are not that good (plus people tend to hog the sniper rifles and all the best spots to snipe). Most FPS's that I play don't really have all that much in the way of sniper maps either.

In single player, I love to snipe - best way to play for me

When I used to play FPS's on my PC, I would often be a sniper if I was not a medic (my favorite class) as I was a lot better at sniping with mouse and keyboard.

I would agree that movement and repositioning separate a camper from a sniper. The problem is that snipers tend not to be a limited class as they probably would be on a real battlefield, so there are just too many of them in most games.

It's true, Silver is terrible with a sniper rifle.

And laser cannons. And battle rifles.

Hey!

I'm pretty good with the BR. I would be better with the spartan laser if it actually fired when I wanted it to

Sniper rifle is fair enough - I can use it, but I'm not that great with it.

What do people here think of people who hide with a sniper rifle in multiplayer video games? Personally, I think it adds a considerable element of realism, and is a completely legitimate strategy. But of course I'm always the guy with the sniper rifle.

There was a TF2 blog post that summed it up nicely by effectively concluding that people hate snipers because they seem to change the rules of the game. You can be in a really intense firefight, trading shots with an opponent, and then come out victorious, only to be popped in the head by someone you never saw, or even had a chance of seeing. Its annoying, for sure, but its also inetensely gratifying and necessary in certain types of games. For example, as much as people moan that snipers are useless in TF2, there are certain maps where they can cut the number of uber pushes in half, ifn ot completely eliminate them.

Ultimately, I think its like anything else. If someone kills you, then they were using a cheap technique; it just so happens that there don't tend to be many particularly gifted snipers so the proportion of whiners is higher. That, or the good snipers, the ones who understand, aren't often killed in that fashion.

In your base, ignoring your logic.

I don't know about the whole "if they aren't moving then thy're campers" argument. Snipers move, but don't move that much so by definition they are campers.

I think that a person with a sniper class who doesn't move that much is a little more realistic than a sniper running across the map with a shotgun.

There is no such thing as a camping sniper noob. If a snipers runs around he cant fire correctly and most likely will be shot and killed.
