Thanks everyone.
Is devaln mud better?

Well, it's dirtier, so it brings things out in contrast but not quite as stark as Badab black, but still enough to make things pop. it's also very versatile, from skin tones, to reds, blues and any other colour

Hmm. Sounds cool. I use Gryphonne Sepia for my faces and parchment though. Is Devlan mud better at it?

Depends, do you want your faces to look grimy, like they;'ve been through a lot of action?

Dheneb stone + Devlan mud wash does make for some nice dirty parchment too.

Hmm, depends on the model.
For this one, I tried to make it grimy

I think it looked fine.

His base other than leaving it as it is now? Because to be honest it's the worst part of the model.

Congrats! How did you use Badab Black, just out of curiosity? Did you just wash the entire model with it or what, because I've constantly had trouble using washes with power armor, but it turned out quite nicely for you.

No pity!
No remorse!
No fear!

After looking at the model some more you didn't clean it up before you painted it. I see a good amount of extra metal parts. You know the little bits that for some strange reason are on the model. The gun strap, helm and his right foot have them. That stuff has to come off. It's good that you won in a county fair but it doesn't mean that the model is awesome.

I'd like to see it cleaned up and based. The model is not done until that happens.

1.) That is my favorite sternguard model and have been frequently tempted to get sternguard just for that model. The fact that it's metal is sort pf a turnoff though, I tend to eschew metal models - but that one is outstanding.

2.) Congratulations on the win!

3.) Devlan Mud is usually the go-to wash because it gives realistic shading without looking too stark aqnd contrast-y on anything other then metal components. I think you can wash nearly any common 40K model to a good tabletop standard with only owning Badab Black and Devlan Mud. Gryphonne Sepia is also OK but Devlan is the money.

I painstakingly cleaned it up. However, I couldn't fully remove all the pieces on the strap (I just bought another knife, so I will when i get it back)
The one on the foot I unnoticeable, you can only see it because of the paint chip (all those pics are old, I fixed up the model before submitting)
And, where is the one on the helm?

It's my favorite model too. I saw the box in a store while on vacation, and I couldn't resist.
Due to everyone suggesting Devlan Mud, I'm going to pick some up when I order more superglue.
