Subject: Re:Awsome Stop Motion - Kasrkin vs. Zombies
A stop motion film is quite different than what you have.....which is a series of pictures taken from different angles, flashing by rapidly, but without the same orientation or background to steady the eye to watch. That makes it nauseating to watch because as soon as you focus on one image and what is happening in it, the diorama switches, the angle switches, everything changes, and you have to try refocusing on the new picture, pick up visual cues to what is happening in it.....but don't have time before the next picture is on you.
For your future endeavors, try setting up a stationary camera. Have it focused on the battlefield you plan on using, so that it can take in everything happening. You MUST NOT move the camera - you need to keep the same perspective for each picture. Take a picture....or have someone take pictures for you as you move your models a tiny bit at a time to show what they're doing, where they are going.....have some effects to show what is firing where, and what casualties are taken. Leave casualties on the ground in the camera so that people can see what's happened as the battle progresses.
Audio: Its static-laced and hard to understand.
Finally: Paint your models!!! A stop-motion 40k film with unpainted models? That's not exciting to see on any level. :(
I liked the first one too. Space Hulk was definitely better made, but you gotta give some props to the spirit of those kids doing that zombie vid. It made me smile.
I'm both chaotic and orderly. I value my own principles, and am willing to go to extreme lengths to enforce them, often trampling on the very same principles in the process. At best, I'm heroic and principled; at worst, I'm hypocritical and disorderly.

Well, the OP's vid is soul-shatteringly awful. I hope this is trolling, because if somone has made this and actualy thinks it's good, they're looking forward to a lot of diapointment in life. It looks like somone took a bunch of still shots of a six yar old playing with them and mashed them together. /rant.

It's being run by people with short term vision and enough greed to extinguish a sun.
The fast sequencing of the pictures made me very dizzy and hurt my eyes. You need to take at least 10x the number of pictures you took, if not 20x, and fill the same time frame.
Make small changes with each picture. Having terrain move from one side of the screen to another within two pictures is difficult for the human eye to accept without getting dizzy.
I have the audio turned off since I'm at work on my lunch break. I can't give you feedback on that.
Best of luck. Try again.

some of the models in the stop motion were well painted, some were pretty badly done, I can paint really well, but only when I want to, or enjoy what I am painting, go to
The idea is good but the execution was poor. His shots were done too far apart with poor lighting & a bad camera. Also you can see him or his buddy in several of them.

This. And OP. Might want to try and take a few lessons from the space hulk vid. At least that isn't cringe-worthy. Plus shameless self promotion as if you just happened to find the video when it was you who made it doesn't help you. Your video also felt more like a sideshow than actual stop motion.

Automatically Appended Next Post: what did you think of the voice over?
Kinda crappy- put it on paint or something, make effects for the guns. Dont talk, use subtitles, and take more photos. Use this as an example:
DS:90-S++G+++M++B++I+Plotr06#+D+++A++++/eWD251R+++T(Ot)DM+ JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles. corpsesarefun: Thank god I missed be nice to shrike day. greenskin lynn: because of all the skittles and soda, you basically live off sugar water, like some sort of freakish human-hummingbird hybrid.
