All of the ones that aren't idiots. There are two barriers that might prevent someone from believing it was real: belief that the supposed psyker tricked the scientists, and belief that the scientists might be tricking you. The first would be trivially easy to overcome for any psyker worthy of the name, simply by performing feats that could not readily be faked - shooting arcs of warp lightning from your eyes, for example. The second cannot be overcome without sending the psyker on a world tour to demonstrate his powers personally to seven billion people, but only an idiot would expect that. It would be akin to not believing in the Eiffel Tower because you've never seen it with your own eyes.

If I heard tell of an emperor being walking on earth saying join me or feel the wrath of my genetically altered superhumans that are immune to conventional and even nuclear weapons... then I would assume: "Wait that means that GW has god damn prophets working for them, and there is a warp with 4 chaos gods in it, tyranids, necron, elfdar of both varieties, and dare I say..... ORKS?!
But long story short knowing there was an emperor on earth I'd assume the chaos gods were there and throw my lot in with them while the emperor was still weak on terra, b4 his crusade...

If that happened, the entirety of the planet would likely take up arms against what we see as oppressive invaders. Those ships in orbit are gonna get a crap ton of nukes to the face, followed by a planetary invasion for us. We would lose, that's a given, but the people of Earth would not go quietly.
Seeing as nukes in the face in space cannot happen in reality I dare say it is still a fools hope hypothetically.
Personally I would just go along with whatever the bureaucrats speaking for the Emperor say, what choice do I have? I'll be dead for much longer if I fight them.

Japan has a "defense force" which is, in essence, a military that politically can't invade other nations.
Regardless, I doubt I would find it intelligent to resist, though I would despise having science taken away from me as a viable philosophy and practice.

Half the world will take up arms for the Emperor, and the other half will try to defend their nations and sovereignty. Capitulate. Immediately.

As amusing as your bravado is: Their void shields would pretty much invalidate the nukes and, frankly, if they did a show of force (flatenned, let's say, Tokyo... in just a few seconds with guns bigger than the Empire State Building), I think we'd capitulate. And those that don't will just get bombarded the crap out of, they don't even need to land a Space Marine.
@Melissia The Emperor was an advocate of science... Are you addressing the possibility of planetary invasion by the new Imperium or by the Great Crusade-era Imperium? Because if you mean just the Emperor himself appearing to us, I doubt he'd do any damage in that field.

I probably wouldn't care too much unless it started seriously interfering with my day-to-day life. Even if it did I don't think I'd get riled up enough to do much more than join in a group complaining session with my friends and/or family. I personally enjoy not having holes in my head or scrambled brains, so I don't think anything would get me standing up and protesting any kind of takeover.

A 9 foot tall super-human with unimaginable psychic power comes to earth and claims dominion over man and promises to take our species to claim our birthright amongst the stars? Hell, it's about time! Anyone who can stamp out radical religion, end terrorism, and secure the unity and destiny of our species, while at the same time bringing about a golden age unheard of in human history will get my undying support any day of the week. Who knows what lurks out there amongst the stars, I'd rather meet it head on at the Emperor's side, than unknowing, ignorant, and vulnerable.

You know that you can't be "made" into a primarch, right?
Even in-universe that wouldn't really be possible.

True enough. The Imperium as whole, after his interment, tends to leave science to the religious nutjobs of the Mechanicum. Though at least the Ecclesiarchy has grabbed on to chemistry...
