If he actually was Jesus/the Emperor/God/whatever then hell yes! Gimmie a flamer and lets toast some orks! (get my wife a suit of that secsy SoB power-corset armour -- RAWR!)
True enough. The Imperium as whole, after his interment, tends to leave science to the religious nutjobs of the Mechanicum. Though at least the Ecclesiarchy has grabbed on to chemistry...

Gilding, creation of various kinds of scents and oils for use in ritual, creation of various kinds of holy water for dealing with corruption and even daemons, creation of holy metals with which to infuse into wargear (the material used for hexagrammatic wards and etc), creation of psycho-reactive materials which set psykers on fire when coming into contact with them, etc etc etc.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

For the Emperor!!! Though i might have to be involved in some kinda activity that involved Fists, Hammers, Angels, Storms, Furiousness, Righteousness or Doom. I would happily help wipe out the xenos Scum. Naturally the emperor would eventually see my Psychic Potential and make me master of the Penetrating Ravager Fist Marines.

I would go to my closet, gird up in my chainmail, grab as many blades as I can carry/strap to myself and go pledge myself to his service.
The Emperor himself during the Unification Wars, and the Great Crusades, was actually quite dedicated to the well-being of humanity, and ironically, against religion and brutal regimes. During the Crusades, quite often the Space Marine Legions would wait to deploy against a human world that was resisting, instead attempting to reason and then use minimal force, as well as the preachers teaching the Imperial Truth (Empiricism).
While democracy would be surrendered, apart from the fact that the leaders of most nations aren't worth voting for anyway (The last Australian election was a list of people who anyone with a brain didn't want in power, but still had to vote one of them in anyway.), for a Golden Age of humanity, in my eyes it's a worthy sacrifice.

I find detailed science boring, hate religion and think most politicians are far too self-centred to make a difference so I would willingly submit as long as I could have a Land Speeder with Multimelta and assault cannon and perchance a gene enhancement making me and 8ft tall killing machine and a suit of power armour with a big fething wolf on it. Cheap really

Is that you, Latham? Or just someone who took his suggestion at face value? If you couldn't find anyone worth voting for, it's because you didn't bother to look.

Didn't even know Latham made any comment. Our choices were down to someone who wanted to spend all the countries money on stuff it didn't need as desperately as it needs more medical treatment centres and equipment, schooling supplies and other things (Including a mandatory internet filter designed to basically do the same thing as the Great Firewall of China), an idiot who wanted to sell us all out to the mining corporations and didn't see anything wrong with our technological infrastructure, or the greens, which stood a snowballs chance in hell in getting into power due to peoples bias that either Labor or Liberal have to be the top dogs. Sorry if I'm not exactly jumping for joy with these options......and don't even get me started on Family First.
However, this is a thread about the Emperor, not how dumb/worthless politicians are, so I'll leave it at that, and would appreciate the same. You have your views, I have mine, and debating them really isn't relevant to the thread and will just drag it off-topic.
Edit: I also did find someone worthwhile voting for, and that was my local politician for the Liberal Party, but as that means that I'm in effect voting for Abbott.....yeah.
