Maybe; I believe the Warmahordes stuff will be going on all weekend - ThursPM through Sun, and so there may be the opportunity to play in the Fantasy GT on Sat, WM/H midnight and Friday/Thurs events, and then basically the finals as appropriate for one or the other on Sun.

I bumped into some of last year's staff at the Bizarre Bazaar last Saturday, and they were as excited as I was, which tells you something.

I can't wait. I'll have to kill someone to get an invite to the Invitational, though.

Next chance is up here in Philly in late February. Doubt if you'll have to kill everyone. Do good in a couple of games, kill the top dozen or so, and I bet the rest let you have the invite.)

Wait... this means I must have seen you at the Bizarre Bazaar (in Owings Mills?) unless I was there at a different time (only stayed for an hour or so). What were you hawking?

I must have missed the Nova Open talk, but I'm pretty pumped for it, too!! Especially with all the Dakka posters that seem to be attending

Yes, I was at Owings Mills. I arrived at about twoish, so it's likely I missed you. It was sparsely attended, sadly, though I made off well.

I think that was exactly when I was there! I saw two guys buy a person's ork army, and then two other people came in with large bags full of skeletons and termagaunts.

I was in the corner on the table all the way into the store against the end wall, with a very small offering (some boar boyz, a spellsinger on unicorn, a tyrant for ogres unassembled). Your saying you made off well makes me wonder if you're one of the people who bought the orks...

The only thing I bought was 2 Ral Partha dwarves riding goats circa 1994, off of the manager of the store no less

Edit: Whoops, meant to send this as a PM Back to talking about the Nova Open...

Technically speaking, I was picking something up to send to another Dakka member... does that make it OK? I also head up to mikhaila's store auctions when I can...

Anyone else on Dakka planning to come to the WarmaHordes events at Nova? There's a bunch on the MD google group, but it'd be cool to see some Dakka members going

Well, I may in fact make this my first fantasy GT... would give me a great goal to shoot for! But it'd be my trolls that would be taking the table, unless there's no special characters allowed.

I heard a little rumor that there is another chance... a possibility that Aaron at conflict my also have this opening up : )

But no confirmation. Conflict is in a week and a half

It's confirmed - The Conflict GT has 2 invitational tickets.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Just to reiterate, in upcoming months you can get invitational tickets at:

Conflict GT - 2
St. Valentine's Day Massacre - 2
Bolter Beach II - 2
Adepticon - 4
WargamesCon - 4
July Event at Showcase Comics - 1
Sprue Posse Grand Prix - 1
Probably additionally at least one each from the Bugeater GT and the Battle for Blob's Park

If ya'll haven't figured it out, the goal here is not so much to have some fancy dancy championship, but to get everyone going to all these different awesome events AND the Open

Lol, I'll be at Adepticon for sure, The Bugeater, and WargamesCon and I'm toying with the idea of making it the SVDM The SVDM depends on the work situation but the other 3 are definites along w/Nova in August.

Since I know you'll be at Adepticon we can hoist a few

Excellent...I don't have to compete with your daemons to a large degree for my invitational passes.

I'll be attending Conflict & SVDM, as well as Battle for Blob's park (I'll be there whether it gets added or not, barring work conflicts) and the showcase July event sounds interesting, but I haven't heard about it, what's the deal on that one?

Not many deets yet - suffice to say it'll use the NOVA Format and 40k Primers for the 2011 GT, and be 32 players. Told Mike I'd run it for him, at his request.

We've held a GT in July for the last couple of years that grew out of discussions between a lot of clubs in the Northeast wanting a tournament with larger than average WFB armies. It got nicknamed The BIG SHOW!, and it stuck. First year was 2999 WFB, which was large at the time for 7th edtion armies, second year was 2999 WFB and we added on a one day 40k event.

Dates for this year are July 10 and 11. Once I get missions and final rules pack up for SVDM, I'll get registration set up for TBS.

Does it still hold true that those invited to the invitational also have free weekend passes to the main event? Or am I just imagining things?

Invitational attendees get their Weekend Badges free ($35). You'll still have to purchase tickets to the Invitational, and to the GT / Main event. The Weekend Badge also covers all of the specials, casual/side events, big ole honking swag bag, whiskey challenges, etc.

For general population heads up - the Weekend Badge + GT Ticket adds up to $100 on the nose, averaging to the same rate / game we charged last year. You're guaranteed 8 rounds, and we can afford to hold the event without my personal savings taking a hit! ... plus you'll get more swag and more events and more activities than last year to boot.

So if we pay the $100 (which I'll be paying the minute you open up registration) and we manage to lock down an Invitational spot will you be refunding the $35? Or just buying me $35 in booze at the event? Just curious

I'll create a unique coupon code that will discount your Invitational ticket by the $35.

Also, Hulk, check your e-mail.

This goes to ANYONE who has pre-registered; check your e-mail in the next day or so.

Although on a more serious note, I realize that moving it might be a total clusterF on your end, but my reason may coincide with a lot of other peoples.

That's the weekend before classes start for colleges, which may affect a fair amount of attendees. But, I'll be finding a way to go, although I'll probably catch heck for a while afterwards...oh well!

It's tricky no matter what you do; rest assured, we thought long and hard on this one, trying to have it as close to "still Summer" as possible while removing it from sponsor/vendor/attendance-harming Gencon, and further from WargamesCon (who moved theirs closer to June coincidentally).

I'm glad you guys are attending anyway, and that our pre-registration #'s are so high, just wish there was that "perfect" weekend for all.

I am suited and booted!

All paid up and ready to rumble. Jeez, I just registered my Ragnar Relay team this morning, too. Haven't even had breakfast yet and already dropped $1,300 out of the bank account! Haha, I need to get some cheaper hobbies.

Looking forward to the event!
