@Everyone: Thank you all so much! Your kind words really help me to stay motivated!

I really need people's opinions as well... as you may or may not have read, my original plan was to suspend the Raider's engines under the wings, and attach them to the generator (ball-thing) with all sorts of tubes and wires... but I'm having trouble finding engines! Valkyrie engines were kind of the design I had in mind, or pod-racer, but everything is too big or too expensive... I was also looking at possibly using Ork Stormboyz rokits, and extending them, but I'm not really sure how big they are... I'm just stumped! Does anyone have any ideas?
Also, if anyone knows where I can get screen- like window screen- for cheep in the US, I would appreciate it! Heh curse you lack of monetary resources!!!

And in exchange- filler!
Had like 20 minutes of free time in entirety of this last week, but managed to make my Counts-as Pain Tokens...

Loving the look of the raider, can see you have a lot of work ahead to finish it but the idea is great

Are you going to mount the wings on an angle or horizontally?

@Blackhand: I was thinking horizontally, the idea being that they would essentially be the 'troop transport' part of this transport... not literally transporting models of course, I always thought the old DE Raiders looked a tad silly with their flock-based warriors sitting on top, but I might model some crew rats hanging on...

That all being said, of you think it would look like it could still transport troops with the wings at an angle, it would fit much better with the idea I have for how I'm going to model a Void Raven...

Just go to any hardware store. You shouldn't have to pay more than $1 for a few square feet, which should be more than enough.

Ok, should be able to go shopping either tomorrow or Monday, so the Raider should be finished before too long Now that I know how to do it, there should be a fairly steady stream of vehicles showing up here
Also, I have almost all of my Clanrat/Warrior counts-as completed (Almost 40! fist pump!), so I feel justified in ordering some more bits and bobs... probably next up will be Wytches... then maybe some Elite units? I have conversion ideas for both Mandrakes and Incubus (Incubi?)... but that's probably in the far future
Probably also going to start working on a Voidraven... the rules just make me giddy!

Wow... this post is rapidly turning into a big to-do list... why did I come here originally...? Oh yes! I need some advice on my paint scheme! Here are the colors I'll be going for:

Now I'm planning at this point to paint most of the fabric black, with lighter highlights (again, see the black in the picture above), with accent fabrics being done in the sort of green-olive (Hoods and the like)... Also, most shields will be done in either black or green, with the other color being used to add clan markings... There will also be other metals on the models, something like THIS and a sort of brassy-gold, but they'll be almost entirely on the gun...

So, my question is this: how should I paint the metal bits on the 'Warriors'? The two options I'm considering are

A) Somewhere between the metals bordering the shoulders and legs in the above picture and the armor HERE...

B) Something like your traditional DE armor paint job... generally black, hard lined with some sort of lighter color.

Anyway! Enough rambling from me, what do you all think?

Don't know if anyone's interested buuuuut...

Fiddles A LOT and so didn't get a ton done... I have some free time tomorrow though, so I should be able to get it to where I feel like WIP shots will show a sizable difference!

This is my first scratch build, and it's quite and experience! I feel like parts of it will look a little rough, but I'm confident that if I make another one of these (as I hope to! DE need some kind of transport imho) I'll be able to make it look nicer, and it half the time!

I like the idea of the olive green, you usually only see skaven in red and black so it will grab attention which is good.

For the metals a classic scheme is probably enough as you are already going somewhere different with the green, plus a black armour with black cloth may get a bit lost.

Hope that makes some sense!

Hi guys! Finally finally finally figured out how to make the wood grain go away on the shields! Well, tata for now!
...
...
...
Oh wait... you wanted to see the Raider? Heh ok!

Finally figured out how to attack the wings... unfortunately this means I can no longer put the engines where I had originally planed So I'll have to figure something else out... when I finally figure out what I'm going to use for engines!
I also have more detailing work to do, more little joint plates and stuff on the generator to make it look more Skaven, as well as still needing to attach the driver... Also... rivets! Rivets everywhere!
Oh... and eventually I'll be working on a scenic base... but first I need to figure out how tall a normal raider on a normal base is... I don't wanna be accused of modeling for advantage!

And now for something completely different!

...
Ok, that was a bold faced lie, actually it's time for More Warriors!
I finally finished converting all of the clanrats from the island of blood into my Nezumi Warriors! I now have an extremelt solid core of warriors, and I'm starting to look to the horizon for my next project! I proxied some as Wytches... that might be next for me! Or maybe something special...

Anyway, while I had my rats out I decided to take some glamor shots Here we have the assembled hoard...my army so far!

And among the swarm:

And finally, the almost completed Raider! Needs details, engine and a driver, but not much else!

Tell me what you think!
Also, now that Summer has officially arrived, and I have much more time on my hands, what should come next?
I have plans for how I want to build Wytches, Incubi, and a Voidraven... I'm working on how to create Scourges, because I proxied them in a game of Kill Team today and loved them... And I know, competitively speaking I Need more Raiders... But does anyone have any requests?

-Josh

More Raiders!

Really bud, that thing is great I love the way the doomwheel parts fit so well with the other parts you found, are you buying just the parts you need or a whole kit?

Oh and you have to model some bursting out of the globe or hanging off the raider.

Thanks! When I didn't know what I was doing, I bought the whole kit, but now I know what I need, so I'll probably only buy what I need...

I'm also looking to buy a set of clanrats to make into wytches, and when I get those I'll have the base for my raider crew

Thanks so much for checking this out, it's good to know that someone is

Thank you all so much for the comments! *beams*

@manoknok: Heh, it's about as long as a land raider, a little longer once i get the engines on it! Yeah, and more towards the second... I've never actually seen event horizon, worth a view?

@Blitza the warboy: Unfortunately no, not even anything primed :( I've ordered some paint and some brushes though... I went back to my old GW paint after a year hiatus and it had all dried up!! :(

@Blackhand and Santobel: hey hey hey lets all just calm down if it hadn't been for you guys this never would have gotten started I definitely owe more to you two than I could possibly say

Thank you all so much for the comments! They really mean a ton and have really made my night
I'm finally home from college (University for those across the pond!) All my stuff is unpacked and I've started to move out of my temporary gaming situation (a toolbox ) into and onto a more stable environment (a table in the hall)...
Ordering some bits and bobs over the next few days, i think my first task is to finish this raider completely (engines, crew, decorations, possibly basecoat) before I can do anything else...
Then it's time for Wytches (essentially clanrats with weapon swaps, don't get too excited ), A second raider, and a Voidraven!! I have some really fun stuff planned as well, but mostly built around kits I'm hoping to get for my birthday, so if you can hold out till July, there's some big stuff planned... But I'm getting ahead of myself! I still have 45+ rats that need some paint!!

Thank you all again so much, it really means a bunch!

I've never actually seen event horizon, worth a view?

when trying top describe Chaos to someone who has never played Warhammer 40K, Event Horizen is invariably used as an example. so yeah i'd say it was worth watching, but then, i'm also a horror fan, have been ever since the original Phantasm was playing in theaters. another good movie to watch for the influence of Chaos is Pandorum.

fav movie quotes: "Well let's put her in charge man! - - "Step up to red alert." "Are you sure sir? It does mean changing the bulb." - - "The escape pods not an option, it escaped last Thursday."

where am I? *looks around* Well i'm...errr...I...I...don't know!

I think the problem with this will be classifying all the weapon types...although It looks good, and I quite liked the shields, and as long as they are solid rounds being fired at the ratties then wood will stop the shot just as well as metal (as long as it's thick enough)...

Hi. Yes. An Amazing film. And you'll see what I mean by the big ball in the middle. And I wouldn't be suprised if the writers were familiar with 'Chaos'.

@ Imperial Monkey. At Uni we did some work on futurism...apparently if man were ever to seriously take to the starts the ships would be 90% wood, with only the hull, and a few other bits being made of metal. Something like an Ironclad in Space.
