You know, given how each generation of "Kids Today" has consistently been the most ignorant, lazy, respectful, immoral, stubborn, reckless, tasteless and stupid ever to live, I'm shocked the human race is still functioning. For all that has changed over the thousands of years of recorded history the unfailing sign of declining civilization in the form of "Kids Today" has been very consistent.
In fact given where we are today I can only assume the whole "Cave Man" thing is a myth. After all since "Kids Today" have always been just the worst generation to date, it stands to reason that each previous generation was better. It seems to be the logical conclusion then, that the people of prehistory were some kind of transcendent super beings, that were nigh-immortal masters of every possible discipline, each able to do the work of 10,000 modern humans. They must have unending empathy for their fellows, and an ability for rational planning that bordered on clairvoyance. Obviously the only reason we have no records of these magnificent beings is that after so many generations of being "Kids Today" our minds are simply to primitive and debauched to recognize them.
You know either that or young people as a whole have always tended to be just a bit immature, and older folks as a whole have always tended to be just a bit curmudgeony and overly eager to forget the more embarrassing aspects of their youth.

Obviously. I mean, they got by without iPhones. Or computers. Even without electricity, not to mention engines. Those guys were hardcore. None of us could survive for a month without all that stuff.
"We train young men to drop fire on people, but their commanders won't allow them to write "feth" on their airplanes because it's obscene!" (Colonel Kurtz in Apocalypse Now)
And you know what's funny? "feth" is actually censored on a forum about a dystopia where the nice guys are the ones who kill only millions of innocents, not billions.
Each generation think they are smarter then the last but wiser then the next.

If all these old people and white people and gak werent so bent up about reading and slang and words and gak they wouldnt think we sound so dumb we be like lol and gak
This was overheard at after dinner scrabble game from my girlfriend's cousin to her boyfriend during a boring family holday gathering: "who cares about how its spelt? <n-word> why you always so lame?" The yound lady is white, from the country, and 15 years old I think, as was her boyfriend. Her cellphone plays the Pussycat Dolls. No child left behind.

...of course, I never plan to teach, so I've got that going for me.
If only you saw those a few years ago, eh?

I'm so grateful I'm finally in my 20's, those paragon years where my generation stops being "those damned kids" and starts getting to lambast the teenagers for being completely slowed.

Then I would just be posting the videos about law school and business that Fraz did.
In any case, political science isn't as bad as that video makes it sound. Regression work is incredibly easy now that there are so many solid utilities available. Coding, on the other hand, can take months.
Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.

While I agree with some of the sentiment here, and found the post amusing as well,I don't see the overall issue as one of a steady decline from generation to generation.
If we take your cave man example, clearly there was a steady incline in human intelligence over many thousands of years, eventually leading up to the existence of "modern man".from that point on there has been an ebb and flow of intelligence, ages of extreme enlightenment, periods of less than brilliant moments and so on,
However, when examining the current crop of "kids these days",it appears ,to me at least, that it's a period of decline, sure past generations of kids did alot of stupid things, but this seems to me to be the first modern generation to genuinely embrace and glorify stupidity to the point of idolization of the moronic.
...of course ,I am a curmudgeony old guy....so I could be wrong.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

Buddy is going to need a better paddle, that one looks like wood, it will break to easy. Personly im going to be the parent that says this to my son (if i ever help to have kids) "get a girl pregnant and il break your arm." of coarse once they move out i wont give a hoot what they do.

But so less fun.

Don't feel too bad, you're in good company. Socrates had very similar thoughts on the subject.

I mean, he HAS got a point. Sort of. White people are historically the most evil (or awesome, depending on your viewpoint...). We've done some pretty muffed-up gak.
