You ought to try Parker, Banner, Kent, & Wayne in Cornellius. The owner just moved to a new, larger location. Every time Ive been in there, there are 9 4x6s for wargaming and 16+ tables for card/board games. From what I hear, there's usually someone there to play every evening. They hold tourneys the last Sat of every month.

Here's the #: 704-892-GAME (4263) for further info check out AssaultPhase.com

I hear ya, man. Ever since the GW store in Concord Mills closed, it's been hard to find a good place to game that's not in the Raleigh area. Any others in the middle or western parts of the state?

Warhammer is still happily played at Cape Fear Games in Wilmington, NC but for some new and exciting news- Warmachine is starting up strong with over 20 new players and a league looming in the near future. The store has its own press ganger and we expect to host Warmachine/Hordes events twice a month with escalation options, prize support and hours upon hours of stream powered all out model mayhem!

Is PBWK too far for you? I hear its a good shop. Buddy of mine from So. Pines moved up that way and does Warmahordes there.

It's not too far (that area also hosts a Renaissance Festival that I've been on the cast of for 11 seasons) and worthy of checking out. Thanks MNOP.

No problem. The place opened after I left the Mooresville area, so I have yet to go, but my buddy Tyler talks it up whenever he is back in my neck of the woods.

WarMachine is picking up in Wilmington. I think close to 20 people playing now? Compared to the usual 8 or so that show up for 40k stuff it's pretty awesome. Check out CapeFearGames !

PBK&W is pretty awsome. Most people "say" they have X amount of tables (which they do) but dont have enough room for said tables. Not a problem at PBK&W. We are mostly "festivly plump" guys, and at tourneys (usually 10-15 tables) there's no "butt bumping" going on.

I am out of town this weekwnd, but the Hobbit had to reschedule their tourney for March 26. 1500 pts and 4 rounds.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

There are many places to play near Fort Bragg. I recommend Gamer's Guild in Spring Lake, or To he Hobbit in Fayetteville. Problem with the Hobbit is that you have to pay to play on Sat only. Gamer's Guild has a very nice turn out on Wed nights. There is also Hit Point Hobbies which is a bit of a drive for me in Hope Mills. Hope that helps. I'll be back in July at the latest from Iraq and look forward to getting couple games on here.

I couldn't have rolled more ones if we were playing in binary.

You should probably get that checked out by a doctor. A weak stomach can be an indicator of some serious diseases.

Weak stomach indeed. Last time a guy continually "butt bumped" me (the tables were pretty close) I farted on him a few times.
I know, I know, pretty rude and downright nasty; but I don't care to be "butt bumped" My opponent found it hilerous, the other guy... not so much.

Unfortunately, I live on the very far end of NC at the moment. Asheville, NC specifically. I'm going there to finish out my schooling. During the summer I go back to where I was born and raised in King, NC just a bit north of Winston Salem. That'd put me in the triad area, not too far from Greensboro if anyone is interested in gaming over the summer months.

Looking forward to meeting any of you folks at tomorrow's tournament at the Hobbit. I finished up some painting early for a change so I can actually get some sleep tonight. I'll be wearing some type of comic book t-shirt.

Well, to add to the mess, I will be moving back to NC in 2 weeks. I will be in Chapel Hill, but I will make trips to The Gamers Guild in Fayetteville. I owe some people some games, and the crons and the Marines should be ready.

Where do you play in Asheville I recently moved to Morganton (about 45 mins east) and have only found a small store in the local area which doesn't have much of a group.

I know this thread's a month old, but I'm going to be moving to NC in early May, with Hit Point Hobbies being the closest store to my initial location, and The Hobbit a bit of a drive further. I was mostly wondering what the community was like down there and at these 2 stores more specifically, and what sort of points values were most common for 40K down there? 1850 is our 'go-to' number where I'm at now. Basically I'm moving to be near family, will have no friends at first, and want to be able to keep gaming so I have something to look forward to!

I've only played at Hit Point. Gaming at the Hobbit only happens on Saturdays in a bingo parlor a couple of doors down from the store. One Saturday a month they have a long day and gaming goes from 10-6 stead of 10-4 like the other Saturdays although I've heard they can go longer. Sundays work better for me so I go to Hit Point. I've always been able to get a game in, but the store only being open from 1-7 on Sunday usually means I can only get in one game. I've gone a Saturdays too, but despite the two extra hours the net effect is the same because people will come to the store later as Friday nights are Magic nights and those go really late.

The guys at Hit Point like 2000 points and higher. Some of them have caught 'Ard Boyz fever and want 2500 points. Some of them have huge armies and just like to use as many of their models as they can. A couple of times when asking for a pick up game I've gotten a "only 2000?" as a response. The gamers I've met at Hit Point are all a friendly bunch, but I'm a newbie in the store and some of the regulars have some beefs with each other that you'll pick up on.
