Wargames factory is in chaos now so who knows if these will ever ship but their Amazons could be a useful starting point.

Because a commissar needs to be feared, not ogled.
Also, because navel-displaying tops combined with leather jackets, whilst great for appearing attractive, tend to deflect less bullets per battle than a full flak vest.

The well dressed speaking raptor is correct in my opinon.

General female in war settings or games seem to just go 'HEY, less armour, cleavage and acouple of pistols or one really big gun/sword. Lets send her out to wreck gak up and watch the sales lap up!'

In the world of 40k, I imagine the commissar executing the guardswoman for distracting the noble soldiers of His Emperors army for distracting them with their boo- Slaanesh heresy!

Quoted for win.

Also if you want female models have a look at GW's Mordheim stuff. The Sisters of Sigmar are quite good; I don't know if they're the right scale or what, but they're decent little minis and don't look like they'd be particularly difficult to convert.

EDIT: I think we need female Tyranids too.

And female Orks.

And a female Emprah.

I know, I was messing around.
My point, though, is still pretty relevant; I mean, I can appreciate an attractive figure, but to be honest the whole "Space Babes!!!!" thing is kinda overdone by a lot of companies trying to get their fanbases to buy more things.

I assume there are tons of female Tyranids. They're a bit like an insect hive, so perhaps almost all of the Tyranids are in fact female drones.

As for Orks, there are no such thing as female Orks. There's also no such thing as male Orks. They reproduce asexually.

As for Eldar (mentioned earlier in the thread), there are a ton of female models. Apart from Banshees, quite a few Guardian models are female (or at least they were, it's been a long time since I bought Guardians). It's hard to tell, but many (I think 1/4) of the torsos have a clear bosom.

1.) We have the Norn Queen which is on the Hive ship in rbit breeding most Tyranids.
2.) Then we have the Tervigon bringing birth to Termagants on the battlefield.

Most other Tyranids are not there to breed and reproduce, but to gather biomass for the Hive Fleet, like workers in an ant state.

from Micro Art Studio. The torso could be painted as is to represent body armour over a shirt/tank top, or used as a good base for thin GS clothing. They're attractive models without looking like porn stars.

Father Gabe used the torsos in his Sisters of Silence conversion if you want to see how they look with GW components:

I have these and they are way too small to stick on IG legs. You'd get a weird pear shaped woman, not realistic at all.

Yes. The more all-female kits the better, as far as I'm concerned. Plus, I bet the smaller body size would be useful for Forgeworld, as from what I've heard their conversion packs tend to be too small for the Cadian plastics.

I think with a bit of GS work it could work pretty well. Add a belt, overcoat, some epaulets, possibly switch out weapons, and spoon on a liberal serving of grimdark and you could have a decently convincing commissar there. But it'd certainly take some work.

There was a necramunda army called Eschers that were all punk girls. You could convert those, and they would be GW models.

Dark elves in fantasy have female bodies on spures. You can add putty to those to made them into IG armor, or just leave it as your own company of IG.

Those are the only real GW routes i can see, and their both pricey. I would buy the 3rd party minis shown earlier if cost is a bigger concern than style.

I would love to have to option to buy some female IG minis that came in a pack of 10, and looked decent. I like space babes as much as the next guy I will not lie (and I can buy some from the hundreds of mini sites of the web or sculpt some at anytime) but I just want some regular female troopers to use in my army is all.

I just ordered a set of minis from Lost Clan Hobbies. Hopefully Things are on the up and up with him, as his site is very lacking. If / when I get them I will post a review of them on the painting and modeling showcase on this forum.

Heres hoping it doesnt take to long. and that there decent sculpts...

Athletic, or very active, women don't tend to have huge knockers anyway. Considering how bulky a Cadian flak vest is, you wouldn't even see the different. Especially when they're holding a lasgun/grenade launcher/plasma gun/meltagun/etc across their chest. Just putting a female head on a Cadian would be a pretty good representation of a female soldier.

When you consider that they're wearing helmets too, and women in those roles would cut their hair short so it doesn't become a hindrance, you wouldn't even notice a difference at the scale the models are. If you want female Cadians, just put some female heads on some of them.

That's all true, but it isn't really the point.

It would be a waste of time to put "female" models in your army that all looked like male models.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...
