I really wish GW would make plastic female IG. Just having an all-female box to mix in with my units would be uber-cool. Anyone else agree?

There are some female guard looking models from third party makers, and there was a thread around here that showed some recently.

And yes, having the option to make female guard would be nice. Then again so would plastic tallarn, first born, steel legion, ect ect.

Female Imperial Guard?

How about (more) female Eldar, female Tau, and even more female armies?

Thing is, there are female tau. It's just that we humans can't tell the difference most of the time. They're all fully armored to boot.

It's really, really hard to tell the difference in shape between a man and a woman when they're wearing combat gear. (aside from a difference in average size) Use the regular models with some replacement heads, which I'm sure are available from numerous kits.

Some of the plastic kits and replacement heads for female ig that i have seen are.. sorry to say.. really ugly.
Gw hasn't been stellar for making pretty female heads, but they at least got better around DE's release. those are pretty good, if still a little butch (which you pretty much expect from a warrior)

IF GW ever got around to making "amazonian IG" or just Femguard in general... It would make a ton of sales.

I have seen some convincing cadian Femguard, that do fit the concept of "hard to tell" but they had noticeably rounder hips ect that top you off. IMO they should go with this, not "less is more" armour policy

This is the annoying thing, how many attractive male figures do you get? not many, they are all soldiers in space. Do you really think that if male IG after fighting 'nids looks like crap, a female IG is gonna come out looking like a catwalk model?

GW has the issue that if they release 'sexy' female IG they will be branded sexist, but if they release accurate soldier women of the 40k no one will buy them.

I don't think that's necessarily true. They did a good job with DE as i mentioned. They look unquestionably feminine without being "catwalk models" as you put it.
What they would do best to avoid is the look of older female models like in RT or Necro. The faces just look bad and the auto-include makeup lips look way too huge. This is also more or less the problem with the current sisters range.
It's certainly possible to achieve an aesthetic that will sell without being unrealistically sexy. GW probably won't go there with guard though.

commong, would it really mate a difference? gaurdmen might as well be running around in the buff anyway for the ammount of protection there armour provides them, in all the games ive played (ive actually counted) ive lost about 800 gaurdsmen o.o (dont go by my stats i never update them) x) so yeh, gw would make more moeny with naked femgaurd but honestly? no one would notice the difference saving wise x)

Maybe, but the faces are definitely all male.

Sorry to be unclear - when I said "use replacement heads [to make your models look like female soldiers]" I meant that you should use replacement heads that depict females.

Personally I like the 'Amazons torso set' and
http://www.shop.microartstudio.com/amazons-torsos-p-210.html?cPath=45

and
'Womens Heads set':
http://www.shop.microartstudio.com/women-heads-p-360.html?cPath=45_74

from Micro Art Studio. The torso could be painted as is to represent body armour over a shirt/tank top, or used as a good base for thin GS clothing. They're attractive models without looking like porn stars.

Father Gabe used the torsos in his Sisters of Silence conversion if you want to see how they look with GW components:

Maybe because for DE its actually taken from their fluff, with both sexes stylised the same. With a 'sexy' commisar that would go against the IG fluff and just be sexist and get aload of for GW.

The model being refrenced is from the last chancers.

God no. I remember some of the people at my old flgs and their SoB minis. I felt sorry for them knowing what their owners must have done with them in their own home.

I know the vast majority of players aren't like this.

A new day, a new time zone.

What do you mean 'not for sale anymore?' The catachan assault weapons blister still says it has one metal catachan with grenade launcher. They just don't have a picture of her up anymore. Maybe they were afraid someone would poke an eye out on the pokey 28mm nipples.

Is Lost Clan still in operation? I started a thread a bit back over in Modeling about recommended bits to make a female commissar, and the fact that they have a kit to do so right there would be pretty useful (if there were any pictures up...)

No, it really isn't. The build is different, even with extra padding since you're padding a different frame. That isn't license to create Boob Troopers mind you, but female Guard should still be smaller overall, with different nuances in their physique and posture.

Mind you, we're talking about heroic scale models here, where everyone's proportions are exaggerated to a degree in order to convey more dynamism and visual interest.
