It does seem like Mantic is slowly mutating into what GW used to be before the LOTR license and public traded status turned it into the more soulless corporate entity we know and love.

Wonder how long before we get Mantic's 'Kings of Future War" game with Ultramar.. I mean Blue Star Troopers vs Tyran.. Alien Bug Monsters on the homeworld of Macra... Parockke

I'm sad to say I missed out on all that, I had a few chances to get into the hobby during GW's Heyday and just didn't....mostly because it would cut into my Comic Book money

I really love the direction Mantic is going in, it's so accessible. At the same time, I love GW's Story Arch. I'm interested in what Mantic is doing for the future....

Fair play to them, looks like they have identified a gap in the market and are catering to demand. I'm sure a load of people from the internet community (who know about it) will buy it, lets hope it gets well publicised and it's a success.

Yes, apparently for release around August. Hopefully it or the fantasy humans will see them release an army I want to collect.

Sweet. Im planning to get the dwarf game, maybe pick up the SF one as well.

Im liking what Mantic is doing...Im getting away from army based games, just dont have the time for them, but mini based board games are great for me.

Might give this game a go... my wife just purchased Heroquest on ebay for us to play, so she might be interested in this one too

It would be good to do something model/nerd related with her other than computer games

I like Hero Quest though not played it for ages
There was a little freeware program available I used on my old laptop.

The program assumed the role of GM and allowed designing of scenarios. Was able to play with just my daughter in this way and set up the scenarios that were in the rulebook. Worked really well until my laptop died and bloody Windows Vista decided all my favourite games and programs were not compatible
