Ok well I'm not dead, but I have been lazy. I'm currently taking a break from the guard, because face it, they are overwhelming. However I did by some stuff from forge world to fulfill my craving for pre-Heresy fists. I've been working on the awesome MK IV dreadnought as well as some FW armor marines.

Yes all of them are going to have red helmets because red + yellow is really sexy. I figure that with the huge size of the legions during the Great Crusade I can get away with making my company have that kind of unique marking.

Great work on the fists bob, I myself am a heresy period enthusiast and have almost completed my blood angels army and am working on my primarch project - both on these forums - if you need any pointers for pre heresy gaming/modelling feel free to drop a pm.

I am very impressed with these tanks.

I like the imperial fists! Really nice and the forge world armour is great too! I'm sure as it is Heresy era you can get away with the red helms.

Yea I've seen your thread. Your Perturabo was my favorite. I would like to see some normal marines from you too though.

I could not imagine painting yellow over black primer. I don't know how, or why, people do it.

One this army is done, it'll have awesome contrast. Bright-yellows against rich-blues -love it!

Well Bob, this is a damn nice blog so far, love the work you have done with the guard, they look good, kind of but not quite Dkok, the colours are good too as is the weathering on the tanks and troops, I'm itching to see more of the imperial fists stuff you are working on......so hurry up! :-)

I will most definitely "hurry up" once I get back to the states. I have 3 weeks of nothing to do, and hopefully it will be filled with painting.

I actually almost finished the dread put never took pics.

Finally, an update. It's been way too long Dakka. Remember that iron clad dread I was working on a while back? No? Well I finished it anyway. I think it came out pretty good. Tell me what you think. Tomorrow I will commence work on even MORE tanks. Then maybe some more Fists if I can keep it up.

It's a bump, but I got an update.

Unbelievable. I actually delivered on my promise ot update relatively soon this time.

Behold the two newest additions to the guard armored force. This was the last two vehicles I had to paint. On to the footsloggers that are scaring me with their numbers.

Before anyone asks. I shamelessly lifted this idea from the GW website of all places. It wasn't done by them, but someone else in the hobby that they posted.

What about more infantry? The Warmaster needs hordes to throw into the breach...and he digs the coats.

Great job with the Green Stuff and the paint jobs really give the troops a gritty, realistic appearance.

I've finished all the tanks now, so I have no more excuse to not paint the infantry. Hopefully I'll get to it soon :p

So here we go. A second resurrection of this thread after 5 months. I just started working again, slowly but surely. Here is pic of something I actually finished putting together. Hopefully more to come in a timely fashion, with some paint on it.
