Are you an 80 year old man with tattoos? because if not you can take your comments elsewhere they are neither appreciated nor needed here. If OP got a tattoo thats his life choice not yours, so unless you live inside OP's mind like some jimmeny cricket parasite you have no room to speak about 'how he'll feel in 60 years.'

on a calmer more rational note, OP didn't get a swastika, he got a design of his choosing that has no affiliations to any racial or political organizations I'm aware of. It's one thing if you get spongebob tattooed on your forehead, yeah you might regret that. but just because you have one family member who made a poor decision in ink, does not mean that every single person who gets a tattoo is a fool.

I have been thinking of getting a Fleur De Lays or the Eight Pointed Star of Chaos on my right shoulder.

yeah I've been very back and forth about the chaos start idea, still not sure if I'll go ahead with it, it'll probably be a day when whatever god there is decides to be especially lame and I get angry enough at him to get a chaos start lol.

Yeah, it's one of those things that the Inner Geek wants, but the level headed part of me knows I shouldn't. I might get sued by GW legal

My brother had this awesome idea for a tattoo, though. He wanted a cross on one shoulder, with the Chaos Star on the other. On his back, he wanted a Phoenix, with it's wings outstretched to both of his shoulders. He said it would symbolize the fact that anyone good can become corrupt, and that everyone always has a second chance.

That sounds pretty cool. If he wants it filled though that's gonna take some time. While mine was overly intricate, I'm so glad I'm a small dude or mine would have taken forever.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a small compass, either at the base of my neck or a little further down between my shoulder blades. Sort of with the idea that I'm never lost, I'll always be going in the right direction. It would be sort of representative of my belief that everyone's life has an ultimate destination, etc.

That's what I would look for in a tattoo, some kind of personal or spiritual signifigance.

Quick question: Does that compass point north?

I thought so too.

Of course, that was before he had a kid on the way, so I think his priorities have changed a little.

Ha, speaking of kids. I showed mine to a friend's 5 year old the other day and he backed away and wouldn't come near me till I'd covered it.

Odd one. Hope it doesn't have that affect on all children

I've been thinking about the nautical star idea recently as well, to symbolize the importance of travel and how much of it i've done in my, and I agree, the best tattoos are the ones that are linked to who the person is and have personal signifigance.

Social bias strikes again! I actually have to younger siblings who are 11 and 12 and they both frequently put on the temporary cracker jack box style tattoos to try and emulate me (much to the chagrin of my mother).

I LOVE that tattoo dude, it rocks hard.

I have a plan for a tattoo, but its hard to design. Im absically stuck with the deisgn at the moment, i want deeply symbolic, but people didnt get the message of the original design.

The original design (if anybody steals it, i kill you ) was a Clockwork heart, with "individuality" in a banner undernearth it.

It was symbolising how deeply i treasure my individuality, but people ive told about it really dont seem to get it.

I also want Slaanesh's symbol on my shoulder, becuase slaanesh should be everyone's god

I say go for what you want on your body and damn everyone else! if it has meaning to you then thats all thats important, the common person can see my tattoos and probably has no idea what they mean outside of looking neat, but it doesn't matter I know what they mean, and thats whats important.

I've been giving thought to this thread. Two things come to mind. The op asked for criticism on his tatoo. For the majority of the posters on this thread they have responded to this, negative and positively. Secondly not understanding the motivation for this tattoo it's very difficult to be judgemental.

OP's tatoo reminds me of the city map in Jak and Daxter though.

My uncle once got a british army guy drunk, my uncle was in the navy, and they managed to talk him into getting the american flag tattooed across his back. I'm pretty sure he regrets that tattoo, but then again people do lots of things they regret when they're drunk.

The design is interesting, reminiscent of some tribal work I've seen, but has a certain Alien/Bio-Tech feel to it as well...I like it.
Also, speaking as heavily tattooed individule...if you do happen to make it to 80 years old,and while sitting in your adult diapers, wishing your body still functioned properly and trying to remember who you are, you discover that your biggest "regret" in life is getting a tattoo...kudos to you...you made it through life with minimal damage.

And if he happens to wake up each morning and find a tattoo he doesn't remember but thinks is awesome he's entertained himself for the rest of his life.

Ooh that's the thing Cannerus. Do I continue the style and end up perhaps dominated by one theme, or go for something else and risk look all mismatched... it's a minefield.

Thanks for the kind words though .
