When dealing with artillery..size always matters

BTW: Klaus I really like your scratch builds, especially the Zeus, that thing is like a rolling art museum..with guns, my Tau's railguns would have to make leadership tests before shooting at it....it would be a shame to mar all those awesome frescos, also you must be a true madman to paint that many little skulls on it, I would be seeing them in my sleep

Anyway great job, and between the people here I think we will keep the plastic-card companies in business.

Pacing around the Omega Vault

For whatever reason the fiendish gods of the warp took control of my modeling station for a month or two and used their daemon-guile to convince me I could build 2.5 Hell Blade fighters out of a drop pod kit and some plasticard. I now have four of these things lying around...

Thank you for the kind words of encouragement Da Blakboar, I'm still working on the project but get easily distracted, hope to post some wips soon. If it turns out half as good as your Battlewagon I'll be very happy
The level of commitment given to the projects on this thread is amazing

^ Thanx.....it ain't that difficult.....well,I do have the plans for Land Raiders & Rhinos.....but if you can take measurements off a real Tank....it won't take much to scratchbuild.

Whirlwind's missiles are in & exhaust stacks are on & stormbolter, headlights & side doors are mounted....now for some paint & decals....keep watching, I might do a trick

Those are great vehicles Ailaros but they are not "scratch built". Rather they are "kit-bashed", which is a distinction I'd like to point out for this thread in general.

"Scratch built" implies taking raw materials (plasticard, tubing, cardboard, etc., etc.) and building something from it, while "kit-bashing" is using components and pieces from one or more kits or commercial products and reconfiguring them, mixing them, or adding to them.

The first implies creation, the second implies modification.

A perhaps subtle but important distinction imho...

Ailaros did say they were only partially Scratch Builds, which is true since the Manticore Launcher and Turret are indeed built from scratch. The one Da BlakBoar posted up there would be a kitbash.

The turret, main hull, machine gunz, boom kannon barrel are scratch built & track links are cast resin. Not much kit on there me thinks
