JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.

i remember alan rickman in robin hood as sheriff of nothingham threatening to disebowl robin with a "blunt spoon"...
i guess giving a heavy metal object without bullets inside is always easy for an ogryn to convert into a ccw...^^

Right, that's why I like the hand cannon look for ripper guns, rather than the autoshotty. Both can fire the same amount of pellets over time, but a break-action hand cannon looks like it's much less likely to have something break when the ogryn smashes it into a rhino than an automatic weapon.

hmm so would you then say to make a break-action gun from a stormbolter as a base?i know your version of weaponry for ogryns and if i would adapt to that i need a base to work from...

true...but would ogryns find it annoying to reload after every shot? If I was that simple-minded and cumbersome, I'd just fire once and then not bother reloading and crump some 'eds.

grenade launcher body, barrel and everthing but with the other gun's bayonets and general sturdyness.

Well, the ripper gun is a heavy "shotgun" but it only has the one drum, after that, they fight with it as a huge metal sledgehammer!

They've got plenty of time for the lord commissar to reload their guns for them after the battle.

Nah, just use some pieces of aluminum tubing. Cheap, easy, and effective.

In C:IG, It says that ogryn's ripper guns are made so that it doesn't rattle off an entire mag in a few seconds, so maybe they don't reload...but that's after about 20 shots- break-action guns are one shot, then reload.

well i did a bit of sculpting work on the hips of future ogryn and also i have begun modeling a rippergun out of a....:misslelancher form the heavyweaponsprue and attached two ogre cleavers... looks like your version shown above shrike^^

VIK PERKUSTIN WANT TO SEE OGRYNS! I cant wait to see what you come up with. To be honest i would aim for a height around 1.5 that of a guardsmen but a width of say 2.0? I.E. you dont want 'em too tall but they gotta be burly. I say go with Orkish proportions; short legs, long torsos/arms and a hunched back (though not as much as an ork).

Indeed i myself constructed my ogryns from leadbelchers. The position of their hands helps a lot. Use H. Bolters with their ammo belts for ripper guns. Good luck!
