Hey! I'm not lost, I'm lagging behind! Wait up!
you really think it is thime for deatail? well...this makes me lighthearted and crestfallen in the same time... now i cann add character for real to the mini and now i HAVE to add charcter to the mini...
i think i will be quite nervous now as this is normally the moment when i really f...k things up...
but to tell you the truth i have recently recovered a veryx small ball of GS at the construction site and rolled it up to a lil sausage which i then put round the head like a bandana...a further layer will have to come too but it fave me a bit of confidence that if i take only very small measurements of GS i can come up with finer detail...
sounds good!
i have been thinking of adding SM shoulderpads as maybe kneepads... and later i will add some bits to the mini too so to getsome high definition detail too...like SM Bolterpouches for the cargopants look and such things...
sounds good again!
should i give the ogryn a backpack? something similar like the cadian one?...only bigger?
nah...ogryns are just able to fire a gun, and sometimes even reload...the smart ones can understand orders and tactics to the equivalent of an 8-year-old, while the smartest one ever can write an "N" and speak broken gothic. I dobt they can operate a zip/velcro/clip, then have the patience to rummage around...then be bothered to stop whacking and get stuff ot of it...maybe laderhosen?
i am still a bit unsure of the arms position and my selfmade rippergun...maybe i will use it on the next mini...for now i think i have to make a totally new weapon ... tried a bit of posing with an autogun and i have to say it doesn´t look fitting... now i snapped the hand with the fromer beartrap off and will redo that too...i am still thinking i will get this hulking son of the emperor a mini gatling...how does that sound?...i think i will print out now a version of the maxmini one for reference...^^
sounds good again again!

I think you'll do fine, trying out the details is Very rewarding. Anyway you only need a few details: pectorals, a shirt, belt, boots maybe a bit of muscle tone on the back? Then you can look for plastic accessories to give it more flavour, no sense doing all the work yourself! Atm My Ogre it is a pair of legs with blobs of putty on them: a Blob for the thigh, a blob for the knee and a blob for the calf muscle. The feet are made from bits chopped off the collars on glow sticks with two Bits of wood glued on to the base to be a base for the toes. I still have to make the armature for the top, need to wait for the pelvis to dry so i can drill it. My inspiration is this Theres a great illustration in the book where it shows his anatomy (minus the rudebits as it's a kids book) which i couldnt find. Obviously the ogre will have a human face though. BTW if your kids ever express an interest in learning English or you want to read the best 'Comic-book' ever made i suggest hunting down fungus the bogeyman.

i think you´re right about the ogryn and backpacks... i am having a bit of a problem understanding and feeling a bit inbto that character of a total dumb person...probably thats why i come up with such ideas...but if i want to get the big guy a gatling would it make sense in giving him a backpack full of amo...a belt coming out of it... like it would be only a big belt-amo-pouch?

bogus looks like it could be really nice...that sad face ...^^
using small wooden parts to give a genaeral shape...cool idea... this will be taken into account the next time i sculpt a mini... save lots of time and material and gives a clear shape right form the start...i was so fixed on the idea of using true sclupters material that thios totally escaped me...thanks a heap for that insight...
if the pic above is a look of things to come i greatly recommend paying ailaros a visit... he did wonders on the coats of his ogryns...and his heads look like he could have been an exelnnet hairstyler back in the golden years... Automatically Appended Next Post: he got six toes and fingers on each hand/foot...sign of an angel...

hey! Are you saying I would know about how a dumb person would think? honestly...I'm not lagging behind that much now... how's about a crate or box strapped to his back to emphasise that the bag contains nothing but ammo, and that he won't need to open it? or just rambo-style- two ammo belts, one over each shoulder?

I wonder how they dreamt that up...

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo!
update time...
today i did quite some GS work on my lil ogryn....
used a more yellowish compound of GS too...i am quite satisfied with the outcome...
tho i tried to give him a shirtwearing look i failed to give him the neckpart of the shirt but made him rolled up sleeves...
also he now wears trousers and i did big and trusty soles to his boots...
notice the bonnet he is wearing and the sash of hopefully scottish apearance...because he will be a scottish brute...
i guess tomorrow i will be adding some regular bits to the trousers and will be working on his gun...
so here he is:
some points i still need to take care of with a bit of GS and some points i guess can be covered up by painting...
well over to you now...
cheers, vik

oddly i have had no problem with getting the GS to cure... after i finish sculpting the amount of GS mixed then i do things for about an hour and all is good to make other rhings with the mini... as of now the mini i getting quite heavyier and more robust...to my horror i even dropped it and it did nothing to the model...i think in the long run i have to look for a new package of GS... i think the stuff and me getting good friends now...
so finishing the warriors means sculpting or are you into painting them now? miss an update on your thread... Automatically Appended Next Post: small update... made a size comparision shot with a cadian and a catachan metal IG and my new green Ogryn...
i think he is quite big... too big? i never saw an ogryn on the table so...
let me know what you think when looking at the green guy...

for tossing the caber he sure has the built^^
i think he is more like eating the piper and the cook in one go kind of guy/ogre...
do you think it is still possible to give him a nice kilt to wear? i fear his legs and boots are a bit too big... could be stupid looking...although a kilt would be übercool...and it could take the effect of too much legdiameter away...also i think while his croch was at first mightyly stuffed now it seems lacking in that department... meaning his legs are longer than they probably should?
your opinion? Automatically Appended Next Post: so i did a bit of work on greeny here and to thank me for my work he is doing a lil jig to me and you^^
see what i ´ve doen to him:

what do you think?

Nice! i very much like the 'Caber Cannon'. He will have to resist the urge to throw it in battle. He now reminds me of the WWF wrestler 'Rowdy Roddy Piper' perhaps you should look him up for a paint schme lol.

well i know him by heart^^... so only tartan... got that planned tomorrow... made a stamp to get some lines and agular shapes into his kilt...in a fresh layer of GS...
well it will be very difficult for him to toss his cabergun^^ as he will get tomorrow an amunition belt so tossing might become a bit of an obstackle... it will be attached to his amobackpack...but with ogryns i guess everything can be achieved with brute force^^
as for rowdy piper... a clean and white shirt with a red/blue kilt would be all he needs^^

I can imagine this thing going hunting haggis, shooting them as they try to escape...those little haggis are nimble little buggers...^^ lookin' good! All I can say to the backpack is...ammo belt! I like the whole "scottish" look to it... the ripper gun's cool but I don't think his arms are in the right position. Maybe have this ogryn one of the ones holding it one-handed in his right hand, maybe holding a haggis-grenade in the other? Or is that too far? I can imagine it going- "ach, you're nah doin' et right...this es hoo ye doo et!"

lol... yeah thats the spirit^^...
i have to say i have medled with the gun a bit and the shooting hand too.. i think they both look suitable now.. the latest iteration is better but not nailed down in a pic...
there will be a nice belt, have tried to make one out of cablebinders but that didn´t work out so well as these things tend to be so sturdy that they bend not to my whim...so i think i will GS my way through...
i read the fluff and description in the codex now and well i picture them as brutes and also i used the image of scotts not deliberate... it was rather a thoughtful decission...the picts (no pun here for i mean the scottish ancient folks here) where my backround idea... they would match these hard bargaining fellows quite good in my book... for all true scottish betheren i didn´t want to affront in the slightest here...
its just a way of playing with stereotypes...
i think if i come around these ogryns here the next GS project will probably be indish ghurkas as psykers...how does that sound?

The autocannon looks great , vik and the kilt looks alright , it needs a few pleats and a sporren though, If i was you i would consider reducing the size of those humongus feet , though , he has a slight cartoon flavour to him with those , and the kilt kinda emphasises them now. i would try and sculpt his shins and a pir of socks going into the boots , the boots do look good, and you have done a good job at creating them , but i would consider trying to make a realistic pair looking at reference pics , or even just cut a pair off a cheap action figure. , hope thats not to criticak matey , i think he has lots of potential ,and the face and body are a great match.
