Yeah, you're right. I remember reading that. Atleast Everest is still intact. It's possible that their names are still known, as countries such as Britain are still remembered, and such mountains surely outlived them. Or perhaps I could name a tank after Olympus Mons on Mars. There are other huge volcanoes on Mars as well. Perhaps these could serve as names for super heavies?

Generally, I've found that the best vehicle names are a combination of deadly and romantic, like...

Hot Lips
Sweetheart's Grave
Steel Intrigue

or just one or the other, such as

Iron Duke
Belle of the Ball
Steel Thunder
Dear John

etc.

For whatever reason, I wind up with strange names for my vehicles. Examples include...

Lord Excellence (Basilisk)
Tin Roof Monday (Manticore)
Sliding Thunder (Manticore)
High Fidelity (Exterminator)
Social Security (LRBT)
Steel Weasel (LRBT)
Payday Tonight (LRBT)
Ice Water (LRBT)

I think the best female name for a tank is Big Bertha. Or a cow if you own one. Man Bertha is a really unfortunate name for ladies...

Good idea, you could definitely use modern politicians name for your tank. That would be hilarious.

"Partly cloudy" would have to describe my Rhino from the amount of smoke it pumps into the air and how reliable it is (not very).

I generally name my tanks after they have done something in battle, mainly after that event (or the inverse is true if it keeps being destroyed consistently the same way). Ether that of I take the names other players give my units, like my poor Dreadnought Brother Steve.

It's OT, but I have to ask it.

Did you use a FoW tiger turret for your Super-Heavy?

If yes, this is just the best idea ever. I'm gonna steal it and try it on the next tank I buy!

Could be FoW, but let's not forget that those are based of real tanks and therefore there could be plenty of other options. You could also take a leaf out of Mass Effect's book and name your ships after famous battles á la the Normandy.

Actually not FOW, it was a academy or trumpeter Model in 1/25th scale...

here it is with some battlesuits for scale.

But it suffered some damage in the last move so I will be repairing it again, Sophia is a trooper.

I think I'd call my manticore "The Hand of God" or "The Gavel"

Probably just "The Judge" and my two Hydras can be "The Jury"? Since they're a duo? Bonnie and Clyde? Timone and Pumba?

Perhaps name the hydras "Harpoon" and "Lance"

although funny names are my favorite I just can't seem to think of any right now...

Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck?
Sam and Frodo?
R2D2 and C3PO?
Tom and Jerry? (best one IMO)

Terrible Beauty is the best description i have ever heard for a war zone.
What mankind can do with several tonnes of steel, a blowtorch and an enemy rivals what a million people can do trying to create a work of art.
