This'll help explain why my Grey Knight Terminators are shorter than my truescale Marines...
Kilkrazy wrote:There isn't harsh gravity on Titan.
My Grey Knights don't know that.
That is because the grey knights are so dense they are pulling titan towards them.
But according to GW Ogryn come from high gravity planets, and as ogryn have grown larger from regular humans, Grey knight smust be bigger too due to the higher gravity.
Also as gravity is higher, time will be slowed, so they will live for longer relative to other space marines.

The GK's are known for their physical culture. You have to, to be able to swing a long pointy stick and shoot at the same time. frankly the thought that these guys are in any way similar in size and height to marines is insulting to the memory of the Emperor. After all, GK's are used, not just for demons, but to pput the smack down on marine chapters who get uppity with the Inquisition. You don't get uppity with no Inquisiiton, not if you like living.
So they must be 10 feet tall I think, occasionally 10 1/2 for the really big Sven types.

Nobody has mentioned their gear? While an ordinary SM Initiate wields a bolter, even the lowliest of the GK are equipped with storm bolters, nemesis force weapons, ultra-engraved magical armour and teleportation devices. Having access to more advanced tech could be one additional reason for them being so far above normal marines. They don't need to be bigger, just trained and equipped better.

Obviously that is part of it, however it sounds reasonable that by selecting the best of the best, you would end up with taller candidates thanks to superior geneseed and so on.
Also there may be a minimum height requirement. I'm not aware of any fluff for that but it seems likely.

Ah, but all GKs are psychic. They may use some light telekinetics to aid them in weilding giant halberds with giant guns on them.

Well, yeah, but where do you fit that big psyker brain? You'd have to have a larger cranium than usual, naturally, thus increasing their height at least a couple inches, surely.

Not taller, Marines are said to vary i height so you would have to choose both tallest and Best at psykickness +Purest of heart etc which seems rather prohibitive. Also if they are squirted with some super 'pure' geneseed wouldn't that make them more likely to be average: I.e not deviating too much from the norm? EDIT: I dont actually know if they are already marines or not... Plus if Titan's Gravity (by extension Mass) were higher than Earth's it wouldn't be a moon anymore it would be part of Saturn...

Can Space Marines walk around all slouchy in their Power Armor? So if they can, and the average may be 7 feet or so.. Then I can easily see a 9 foot tall Grey Knights because they are better (aren't they?).. they most likely stand up straight like they are supposed to.
In short, GK = 9 feet-ish tall. ?

It's not GK hate. It is simply facepalming in response to the stupid comment "psykers must have bigger brains!"
Because you are more intelligent or have psy powers doesn't necessarily mean you have a bigger brain.

"How many more worlds do we sacrifice? How many more millions or billions do we betray before we turn and fight?" - attributed to Captain Leoten Semper of Battlefleet Gothic - Gothic War, the evacuation of Belatis.
If commanding a Titan is a measure of true power, then commanding a warship is like having one foot on the Golden Throne - Navy saying.

Hardly being a hater for saying they are of average enormous height. Is Charles Xavier's head bigger than most because of super-brain? No, it just seems that way because its so shiny. Ditto on GKs.
Now if only someone would post that pic of the dreadknight doing the "Haters gonna Hate" walk.
It seems more reasonable that a special elite force that fights with space magic and big choppers would find it more cost effective to use their space magic for space magic and simple physical strength for big choppers.
Therefore Grey Knights would be selected both for space magic power and for size and strength.

It can't be too hard to find 1,000 guys who are above average height and have space magic powers.
Seems pretty hard because most chapters only have like 10 of the aforementioned bestest humans ever. And I still think there's 3000 GKs.
Let's do a back of the envelope calculation. The assumptions are:
1 million worlds in the IoM Average population 6 billion
Half the population are female so cannot become Space Marines.
Only one quarter of the male population fall into the right age band to become a Space Marine.
Only 1 in a thousand men is capable of becoming a Space Marine.
Only 1 in a thousand Space Marines is capable of becoming a Grey Knight due to psychic potential, etc.
Only the tallest 25th percentile (1/4th) of SMs capable of becoming a Grey Knight are tall enough to be accepted.
Only 1 in 100 gets through the training and becomes a full Grey Knight.
That gives us the potential for 1.875 million GKs.

Of course it does. Hence the phrase "check out the Big Brain on Brad!" Haven't you seen Mega Mind for crying out loud?

exactly.
Now lets reference Megamind in comparison to your typical human.
Clearly his brain makes him taller. Even the sickest GW fanboi can see that.
Now track that with MonKeigh, er Marines. If Megamind > Humans because of his brain, then GK megaminds > vanilla ice cream marines. Again don't be a GK Hata!

You're pulling those numbers out of no where but I wouldn't argue too much with them. However, before "1/1000 are physically capable" of becoming a marine I would factor in how many people are psykers. 1/10,000 1/100,000? And then while we're guesstimating stuff, how many psykers do you think actually get captured by the witchhunters? I'd say 1-2% imho.
