Great looking necrons, very interesting aswell. Those warriors are much better, they look like they are walking forward rather than standing round like nearnly everyone elses warriors.

Well my newest acquisition arrived today. Most Cron players say he isn't worth the points in a game, but you can't have an army with out their evil god of death can you? Even if it is just a dsplay piece. I got him for next to nothin, but now I need to get the paint off.

The warrior poses remind of the dancing cron you can find at Youtube.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Well Acetone was a complete failure for removing the paint. I had it on there for a good 20 minutes and it didn't even start to loosen it. Any sugestions?

Since you went with the nightbringer, I recommend you go warrior heavy with some extra heavy destroyers. Stay away from the monoliths or youre gonna phase out fast against most experienced players.. If you want to field something really useful get a necron lord with a resurrection orb, youll piss off a lot of poeple if you run 30+ warriors and lord has a res orb Automatically Appended Next Post: Asphalt wrote:shasolenzabi wrote:

Use dawn power dissolver. You can soak it for as long as you like paint falls off best after 8+ hours

I am working up to that. Most of what I read about the rules makes no sense to me yet. I really need to get ahold of the core rules book.
Well I wouldn't have believed that plain old dish detergent would be a better paint remover than acetone, but after very little soaking in 7th generation the paint came right off. I will let them soak overnight so it can loosen it up in the little crevices.

I let him soak overnight and used a fingernail brush to clean him off. I need to get a stiff bristle toothbrush to get those last little bits. Other than the not quite alignment of the two section at the hips I rather enjoy this model. Like I said, I don't know if I will play him, but I am glad I picked him up.
There is some superglue left over int he shoulder socket from the previous owner. Is there an easy way to remove it?

The best way to remove superglue is a nail file for flatter areas and using an exact o knife to carefully scrape chunks off. The scratches show in plastic figures sometimes, but you dont have to be as careful with meteal. This is what I do as Im always rushing through the building part.
If you have any friends with a pin vice who know how to use it I would recommend using it in addition to super glue when you go back and build the figure. I know dipping metal figures in boiling water loosens bonds but Im not sure if it makes scraping glue any easier. I would keep the figure base away though, or it will shrivel and melt.

Ok, this guy had large amounts of superglue in very strange place. But I think I finally got most of it out. It turns out a lot of the gap issues in the waste was due to the amount of glue in there. Once I got most of it out they lined up better. I just needed to sculpt a tiny fold on the back side of the model and all is well.

There are a couple things you can do to remove SuperGlue. One is to freeze the model, the superglue becomes very brittle and you can chip it right off with an exacto knife. Simple Green does the trick too, and is great at taking paint off of models.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with these Necrons. I know I haven't seen much regarding any dynamic Necron armies.

And a tomb spyder. I gotta say, I am not a big fan of this mold. But I wanted to get something together to paint. It is very static and not all that interesting, but that is what conversions are for right? I am going to need to do some redesign work before I put together another one of these.

My second tomb spyder. Now I am getting a little more excited about the mold. I will need to make a longer post for when I base him. At this angle his legs hang down to far for a standard one.
I am thinking about going double claws for him. I also want to see how he would look with longer arms.

cool group shot , you can really see the difference the poses make when grouped together, i have been repositioning my necron lord after seeing your work and some of the other great armies around. great work on the spider looks much better like this , more in line with some of the artwork as well , you are seriously tempting me to get some of your crystals as well , would go lovely with my diorama.

Do you have any, or are you going to get any flayed ones? I'd love to see what you do with them, instead of just the crouched down haunches.

I have no flayed ones, but I have some ideas for creating some. I need to get the arms made. They will be called Sythe Bearers, similar to the lords in that they were some of the first to be converted to that particular branch of the necron forces. Instead of the knife fingers that became more common they will have scythes connected to their wrists, in honor of the weapon of choice of their god.
