Good choice! and as for the changing the Staff-of-light to warscythe that is all up to you. Though the SoL does get to shoot and act like a power weapon. The warscythe for some reason did not come with the shooting option for the Lords.

Some more W.I.P. They came to me primed with a heavy white basecoat. I stripped em and put em back together. I call em the resurection squad. The Orc eater scarab swarms came partially assembled that way. I thought it was a great idea so I got out my vise and steel pins and I finished them out. I still want to add a couple scarabs here and there but I think they are going to look fun when they are finished. Now to get ahold of a few figures from other armies to make some nid eater, marine eaters, eldar eaters, etc.

I am hoping to get some priming done on all of my put together minis in the next couple of days when the humidity goes down. Here's hopin.

The humidity finally went down so I primed the few I had completely assembled. Just a light coat of Krylon Satin Nikel as a base.

I have tried a couple different washes. One is scorpion green future wash and the other is a green ink future wash. I am not sure which I like better, or if I want to go with a more earthtone wash is the joints. Opinons?

Two less colorful washes. A warm brown and a brownish black.
and all four together.

I am thinking maybe putting the brownish black over the scorpion green might give me what I am looking for. I think I would need to dillute the BB more so the green can show through it.

I like the blue
green is ok
purple isnt bad for an earthtone

This is starting to look my painting of necrons, fast and simple. Thank god it works well with them.

Personally, I think these colours look much too bright and happy, like something not scaring pre-school kids, not a grimdark menace to the earth. A Monolith in that colour would look more like a nice present or Easter decoration, but maybe that's just me.

A dark blue metallic (like Tamiya X-13) with a Badab Black wash would look better and more grimdark and menacing.

The wash is just going to be an undertone. I will be drybrushing over them in a similar fashion to my destroyer.

I had a few second hand destroyers that were headed for the parts bin, so I thought I would see about a little immortal tesla carbine conversion. I still need to do a little gap work, add a handle, the sphere where the cables connect, and the power rod or whatever it is that comes out of the bottom. But I think it will work.

My first rodded warrior. I have to say the building is a lot more fun than the painting. After looking at the photographs I see A LOT of places that need touching up and toning down. I think I need smaller brushes and fewer cups of coffee before painting. I lost some of the detail when I went in with the green in the last set of coats. BUT, he is the first warrior I have brought to completion. My first regular size mini ever for that matter. Definately harder to paint than destroyers and tomb spiders. I still have no idea how you guys do so much detail on something so small.

I think it looks pretty good, you should see my warriors, they are pretty ugly, but I made them that way on purpose!

Thanks. The part I am the most pleased with is keeping him dark. I didn't want bright and shiny crons.
