I like older WoD, but I'm more a Werewolf and Wraith fan than Vampire.

This is a pass for me, especially since it's hard enough getting the whole group together for ONE RPG.

To be honest although I like VtM.

I'm a much bigger WtA fan, and a small part of the reason I ordered this was to hopefully inspire a similar release for Werewolf for its anniversary next year.

edit - oh and I really liked the art from what I've seen so far. Its all colour which probably throws you off a little as so few of the pieces in the original VtM books where in colour, however the artist doing the pics for 20th, is one of the main artists fom its original run.

I fully support people doing this. The majority of me passing, though, is finding a group to play and if I can do that, my friend Meagan and I still have our old WtA books and, honestly, our D&D group seems more the Werewolf type than the Vampire types.

I will pray everyday, however, that there is an anniversary edition WtA release. I will buy at least 2(the more books, the more people making characters, the faster it is to get started the first night).

I love commas.

The sink.

I have the agree about disliking the art. It just doesn't appeal to me at all.

And no level 10 disciplines? Pfft. I want my Gangrel to turn into a giant ball of fire.

A select number have been put up for sale, this is a last chance to get a physical copy. If its still up I advise not to delay.

I'm glad they re-released for fans, but I could never get into WW's settings. They always seemed self consciously smug about not being D'n'D (I remember rolling my eyes at "There are no +1 swords" or whatever that sidebar was called.)

That said, they had some interesting games and mindset ideas that would be fun to play with if you could put up with the cloying nerd superiority complex that the books put across at times (I think Mage was worst for this.)

If they re-released Wraith I'd be all over it like free bacon though. And Hunter appeals to me because I dislike the smugness of some of the other books, and knocking them down a peg with some rednecks really appeals to me (plus I loved Supernatural series 1-3).

Hope you guys have fun with your books. Recently joined a Mage game (8 years of play and counting, so it's a bit involved) and hoping to have my mind changed about WW.

Argh... I want it, but, I simply cannot justify spending that kind of money on it. :( I suppose I can prowl ebay and hobby shops to see if I can find the original V:tM rulebook for a reasonable price since I've never owned a copy and would be quite content with that.

Price mostly ...

also
I've always been put off by the reams of not-so-good (IMO) fiction that fill up their rulebooks. I wonder if that will be included.

I know one of the fluff writers (mostly Hunter and Changeling AFAIK) and said in conversation that I didn't like the new setting.. It was an interesting weekend. He then once signed a novella he'd written later saying 'not all my books are crap :-)' which was funny. Also who told me about WoDMMO ages ago. sound guy. But I'm still not gone. On. The stilted, stories.

oWoD with the ability to advance with the modern 'blood potency', the loss of the meta-plot and the nWoD skillset/combat would be great. However even for £63-odd quid I cannot ustify it as I will probably never play it.

That said the old vampire I got in the states while hitting puberty

On a side note, I have the PDF, came free with my preorder, and although it is using the revised toolset, and has taken a few things to do with the meta on board.

Most of the metaplot of revised has not been clarified as happening, there are side bars reminding you of them, but its your call if they have happened or not, as revised meta basically sets you on course for the Apocalypse.

So Week of Nightmares, the Assamites taking out the Tremere Curse etc, haven't happened if you go with the vanilla flavour of the book.

I'm happy with that, as I have the revised books if I feel the need to properly introduce it again, but as a base book, it allows Chronicles to begin without the threat of a building Apocalypse on the horizon.

They have also announced four new books at the Grand Masquerade.

Werewolf 20 as I noted in another thread, a V20 Companion, a book called Ashes to Ashes, and a book called Children of the Inquisition that will apparently flesh out the new stories/meta that are occuring in the new version of the original WoD.

so will it be available as pdf on their site later. It would be great to run a 'cleaner' version of traditional V:tM

It's a PDF on Drive thru RPG as of a couple of days ago, not sure of the price as I got a code for the preorder, and its sadly work blocked, hence no link.

However it is there for download.

Been a while since I posted in this one, but it finally arrived. Took a little longer to reach me here in blighty as the group orders where delayed.

However well worth the wait.

I believe so kirsanth, they are doing W20 (Werewolf the Apocalypse for those who don't follow WoD) this year, so I think its highly likely.

V20 aparently sold well, and I would guess W20 will do the same.
Hell I'll probably be getting two copies for myself for W20, (one to read, one to be pristine) and possibly one for a mate's Christmas gift.

Thank you for that, it's fantastic news!

I was really involved with the original WoD, I would love to read more about it.

May have to look into the rest of the updates, even if I am a bit late to the party.

I believe V20 will be available on Drivethru as a print on demand book. (It either is already, or is on its way.)

It won't be a leather tome version, but I think its a hardback, so it should be around outside of PDF format, which is nice.

Keep hearing talk that the entire WoD collection is going to go print on demand, but not seen it yet. Stick my head in the door over at Drivethru now and again just to check.
