Thanks. The name was only chosen because in the codex there is a squad of raptors painted kinda like this called the blood disciples.

Right heres the pictures I promised

One counts as rune priest.

One terminator lord.

Wip havocs

Finished havocs

The second half of the third marine squad

Hope you all like these. Please remember I will be adding more detail to the army once they are all done to this level. Maybe bringing out all the sculls in bone on the armour and adding some colour to power cables ect.

I am *really* enjoying how this is turning out. The subdued look across the entire army really works and ties together a lot of different armor types into a solid unit. Looking forward to seeing more.

The bone colour really does a good job of breaking up the black and grey, how do you paint it? I always struggle with the bones on my CSM

Its the simplest thing ever mate. Just block colour it bleached bone and drench it in devlan mud. Thats how it comes out its so wrong and yet so right.

I like it, the model is very much chaos and looks great. I do however think that there's to few moments of contrast on the model. I think I mentioned it when I saw your marines too, but on them it kinda worked since they're so small. On this larger model however, the gunmetal makes the model look really bare and almost unfinished. It could be because I collect Iron Warriors and I'm expecting some gold on so much metal, but I think you should try to add some more colours to it, just to break up all the steel. Still, the model looks awesome

I dunno what I would do though. In real life its a little darker and I have brought out a few hatches and windows in black. I think If I do much else it will just look gak :(

I really like the subdued colour scheme, care to share how you did that?

DEAR SHOE,

THAT'S RIGHT YOU ARE A SHOE. THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT NOT BEING A SHOE BECAUSE IN MY MIND YOU ARE ONE AND THAT IS MOST UNFORTUNATE.
AS LONG AS I HAVE YOU CONCEPTUALIZED AS A SHOE IN MY IMAGINATION YOU SHALL REMAIN AS SUCH.
THIS MAKES ME WONDER WHETHER ALL PEOPLES AND OBJECTS CAN BE CONCEPTUALIZED AS SHOES AND THUS BECOME SUCH, GRANTING ME ABSOLUTE POWER OVER THEM. DO YOU HAVE A CLEVER ARGUMENT? NO YOU DON'T, YOU"RE A SHOE. SHOES CAN'T HAVE CLEVER ARGUMENTS.
I FEEL LIKE THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD HAS BEEN LIFTED OFF MY SHOULDERS NOW THAT EVERYTHING IS UNDER MY CONTROL, NOW THAT YOU ARE ALL SHOES. I NO LONGER HAVE TO ANSWER TO MY REGRETS AND PAST MISTAKES BECAUSE THEY ARE SIMPLY SHOES.

Thanks folks.

Colours are just boltgun metal drenched in devlan mud. simple. Dust is a dry brush of codex grey then white.

Is it a really heavy wash because that sounds just too easy for that amazing look.

That Chaos Baneblade just knocked my shorts off (I was gonna say socks, but I'm not wearing any). It's just so spikey and evil looking. Love it, love it, love it!

Thanks bunny. It is just a really heavy wash being carefull not to get stains where it drys before you finish or blotches where its all fell in one place.

Just took a deep breath to blow the dust off this thread

Ok so I have decided if I can get the models done in time I will take my chaos to throne of skulls in 2 months. That might not happen but it does give me an excuse to paint some of my neglected chaos and give you guys some things to look at

First of all some better pictures of that big defiler

I have a better cam now and somewhere to take pics with good light

Also here are some better picks of the chaos baneblade

And a little fun next to one of my forgeworld Baneblades.

Hope you like them both. Now for the progress. I have started painting my second defiler as I would like to have all 3 of them for the tournament as they cost a fortune and cost a lot of money so they deserve at least one high profile outing

Here are the progress photos.

Takes a long time to even base coat one of these things this one has got its base silver the turret has been washed and I am washing its limbs one at a time when I get a spare minute here or there.

In terms of the army Im thinking demon prince. 60 chaos marines in 3 squads of 20 and my 3 defilers. Yeah its gonna get raped by everyone flyer spam but its fun and I really dont know what to expect from the new rules at throne. If I cant get these done in time I will take my guard but they will die as now tanks are pointless. :( Hate hull points stupid rule.

I really like the blog, the colour scheme is very attractive.

I think that th army you have in mind could use some more variety, but it looks like fun.

If I had a dollar for every dollar I spent I'd have all my money back.

Glad you are liking them. They will most likely become warn iron warriors if the next dex is any good.

I have finished doing some bases today so have 10 finished marines for you all.

Happy with these guys and this is good progress

Right guys. Had some good progress today. Another 10 marines are finished now and I have taken a photo of the first finished squad of 20. Also base coated and under coated some more marines.

Getting there. So many chaos marines to paint.
