It's funny how big the "baby" rhinox is. Here's a wip I'm doing for my WoC (counts-as juggernaut):
And it doesn't hold a candle to the big fella above... however, if I had to guess I'm expecting any new GW ones to be smaller than their current FW counterparts. Those things are behemoths...

I only hope that the battalion doesn't increase dramatically like the Tomb Kings one
Im so afraid it will, that I might actually get stuff now even though I won't start them for a long time, just to be safe
Although i'm laughing picturing ogres on a chariot,
that would be hilarious

Some updates from Warseer:
Vepr wrote:Wintermute has graciously allowed me to open another thread for Ogres rumors.
ghost21 wrote:Ogres will have new weapon options
GodlessM wrote:I can back the rumours of plastic Yhetees, Scraplauncher (this is the platform thingy), and Rhinox Riders are the plastic kits from my own sources.
Harry wrote:silks wrote:Harry did clarify on the Ogre Stronghold that he liked the pun rather than saying it would definitely be October.
Yes ... couldn't resist.
But I am sure they are the next full army release. (with a book, etc.)
Given the waves of stuff that are coming before them as time goes on I can't see them coming any sooner
... but then I was surprised when TK turned up a couple of months before I was expecting them.
ferrus wrote:I heard rumours of plastic Rhinox cavalry.
Me too.
Darnok wrote:Birdy time.
Ogres gain resilience through improved save, not sure if its a 6+ scaly skin or a 6+ regen. Fluff has to do with their layers of fat/gut
Ogre magic augment spells will no longer be remains in play, expect magic to be in line with all other lores, butchers/slaugthermasters may loose loremaster
Ogre ironguts go to strength 5, will have option to take a great weapon or a cls
Rhinox riders are in the list officially
Maneaters may gain the ability to improve their stats to reflect their worldly experience, unit may choose one: +1 bs, +1 ws, +1T or terror.
Leadbelchers receive normal cannons, move or fire. So can shoot normal cannon ball (D3 wounds) or grapeshot.
Restrictions for gnoblars and scraplaunchers are gone
Bignames no longer count towards magic item allowance
My personal opinion on this: some things sound plausible, some I have heard/read before, and some I would take with a bit of salt. But I appreciate them nonetheless.

The one thing that I disliked the most about the Ogre Kingdoms is their fluff. Even by GW standards it's ridicously gory.
Looking forward to it though. Not that I plan on playing Fantasy any time soon, but some new rules might give me some ideas for my Ogre Pirate army.

Leadbelchers receive normal cannons, move or fire. So can shoot normal cannon ball (D3 wounds) or grapeshot.
As an OK player, this is a ridiculous overpowering change - a unit ogres with cannons has all the benefits of war machines but no drawbacks. Even if charged they can still mop up what charges them after grapeshot, and if a large unit charges them then the OK player deserves to lose letting such a large unit get that close.
Have to go up in points quite substantially for this to be true.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games. |

Worth noting that the lack of finecast for Ogres also backs this up. Only other army with no finecast is Necrons, so I guess that's likely August and September wrapped up?

Worth noting sisters haven't got any finecast either and to the best of my knowledge September is a "special release" along the lines of Space Hulk. November has nothing in although some have said crons will be pushed back to early 2012, with sisters, november and ogres october, or vice versa. Although Crons and sisters may be switched. All in all no one really knows... and those that do can't tell.

Yeah, T4 and 3 wounds...much easier to kill than a cannon.

If leadbelchers are going to be good... definitely get the Battalion box before the book release / model updates. They're the only reason you might consider not getting it with their current rules, but it's a great deal even without them. With them being good... it's by far the best deal in fantasy.

I look forward to telling a ten year old that his recent purchase of the Army Book will be obsolete in a few months time.
Am sure his parents will be chuffed.
The current models look pretty good to me. Don't feel they would need a massive makeover.

I stashed away 2 Battalions I got from The War Store last year knowing that amazing deal likely wouldn't survive at that level price break at the next price increase. Two Ogre Battalions for $72 each, that's like getting the model sets separately at about half price. And I recently found another box of Ogre Bulls on eBay for $25 flat. When the army is revised all I'll need is a couple of the best cool new models plus the new army book from my local game shops and I'm ready to go.
