I dig em. Interchangeable barrels is a very cool idea. I'd love to get some closer looks at the gun barrels, and making some other head options would be very cool.

Pity about the huge tubes. If they weren't there they'd be easy to add if you wanted huge tubes.

There are so many seperate head options now I think Ramshackle would have to do something pretty interesting to make it worth adding to that pile.

Interchangeable weapon parts = brilliant! Imagine if people like GW would try and do this, would make collecting so much easier if done right.

Props to you.

Overall, the bodies are pretty good for proxies of many kinds. Would be effortless to swap heads and other weapon parts from various kits to make truly unique models.

Well done.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also, kind of like the STC pattern stuff, it would make a lot of sense that weapon components would be hot-swappable. Look at modern military weaponry and that's where everything has been going for awhile now.

How do their built-in bases scale up to GW bases? It would be pretty cool if they were flush with them.

I think they look good for their cost.
I'm afraid it might be a bit difficult to get the gun barrels straight.

Very nice, though IMO they seem a little too much like Pig Iron knockoffs, both in terms of general aesthetics and a few specific design decisions. On the other hand, your lower price may allow you to carve off some of their market. Best of luck!

OK, some great feedback there, thanks.

These are "test" models. I wanted to put them out and see what people think. I plan to do an integrated army setup, with different troop choices, vehicles and support sections. Getting the design right will help to make a great product.

So, lose the gun tubes then, and supply different heads. And redesign the guns, but keep the interchangeable ends.

Also, the bases are the same size on the bottom as the top of a 25mm round base, and the same size as the dip on the 30mm lipped bases, so 23mm I think. The figures are 28mm to the top of their heads.

I cant afford to pay a painter!

They can be bought from my web shop, the link is in my sig!

I agree. Pig Iron and West Wind aren't the only companies doing spare heads.

I would concentrate on variant bodies. If you have a heavy weapon squad you want some normal weapon troops.

Well you don't need to redesign them. What's there is pretty good at the moment.

And some amount of tubing is ok.

The Guns were fine. It was the big hose on them that took it away from me.

Heads? Pfft. leave it as headswap optionable. add in your heads, but have them as a second part with the neck indention for 3d party heads.

Then people can get thier own heads and put them on there.

Options are always sweet.

I would thin the tubes down a bit.

As it stands, they look like something that you'd see on a flamethrower or a giant squirtgun.

If they're meant to be energy cabling, thinning them down and maybe giving them multiple feeds might do a bit more to offset the 'big hose' issue.

Nice work Curtis.

£8 will get me a skirmish squad with a spare to play around with.

As for the cabling, I like the look of it, but, maybe, do a variant or two without/thinner cables. That should keep most bods happy.

How about making the tubing a separate part. Lots of companies already sell tubing so this can be done.

Then people can choose tubing or not as they desire. As a separate piece the tubing would also be more 'dynamic'.

I've got some of Ramshackle's 'Sci-fi Indian' head on a project I'm working on at the moment. I'll maybe post some pics when I'm done.

'Wants to have' or 'thinks would be cool'?

Because I'm thinking something ala the human helmets from Mass Effect would look decent with that particular body build.

I understand this issue, but it's catch 22.....can't afford a painter, but less sales due to poor paint jobs....choose your poison.

I'm not bashing you, Cypher Studios has a similar problem, rubbish paint jobs on their earlier models, and the biggest problem, go to their website and you can see the concept artwork for the miniatures that are for sale, but no miniatures....who will buy based on concept artwork alone? And yet, these guys make some of the finest fantasy miniatures out there!!

Incidentally, they have just employed Angel Gilradez, and he has done wonders for the range......

As far as helmets, I'd love to see helmets similar to ODST from HALO...awesome, but the bodies would need to be slimed down to make it really pop, those guys are seriously overweight at the moment.

I quite like those heads. Got a Russian gas-mask feel to them. Picture them light grey, with brown edging.

And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all" Mario Savio

You know, here's what might work for that.

Just show unpainted photos on your site, and have little 'Submit Your Photos' of painted stuff from customers. It'd require a bit of moderation to weed out the lower quality paintjobs and the like, but overall it might do a bit more.

Or you could always solicit here to see if anyone who would be buying them anyways would like a unit free in exchange for doing a quality paintjob and showcasing them on your site?

Good looking figures, either way. I want a few squads of those.

I'd drop £$£$ for either......units of guys like this would sell like hot cakes.....none of this trench coat rubbish, or boiler suited "feral" wasteland rebel stuff.....give us ODST!

Make something like this before Mantic do it.....no pressure

Agreed.

There is a stupifying lack of 'realistic' scifi human infantry.

Or super clean anime sci fi (no offense, just not exactly realistic imo)

Only really realistic ones I can think of are the system troopers from pigiron but I hate the bodies
