I am no worries I've got the armor bit done and I'm almost done with the cloak. I've got metal bits done too. Just have to:
Paint the face (ugh)
Paint the eye-lense bit
add little details
Finish the cloak
The face should be the hardest.. I'll post pictures when I'm done (or nearly)

Firstly, let me congratulate you on taking up such an ambitous project. Secondly, if you haven't already I suggest you read this: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showtopic=132379 It's basically a guide to creating your own, plausable Space Marine chapter. I found it a great help when creating my Wardens Mortalis.

I would say don't use brown ink on the whole mini, just use diluted black paint on the grey-lined areas, but I would use the ink on the skull on the knee at least...

Thank you very much, you put a smile on my face Cheers
Here's a Step-by-Step:
Cut out your chunks of cork, some use cork plates (which are great as well) but they're much thinner and I really wanted big rocks. Place the chunks where you want them (dry fit) and then place your model. In my case I placed the flying base onto one of the chunks and suspended the Chaplain in the air, trying to get him to balance on the base, man that was a pain.
Next, (this is what I did, use any paint you'd like) I took a spare base and painted on all my reds and a yellow. I forgot I had no orange, so I looked through my paints and found I really had none, so I took my Clear Red Tamaya paint and washed the yellow which made a nice orange. So:
-Glue Chunks onto base. First level only
-Paint Clear Red Tamaya all over the base (not the cork) just in case I missed a spot.
-Paint Red Gore (or Scab Red, whichever is darker) on the whole base (not the cork)
-Paint the other (see above) on most of the base, leavning about 30% of the previous red.
-Paint all but about 2/3 of the base in blood red
-Paint just the thick blotches of blood red sunburst yellow in the center. Carfully apply Tamaya Clear Red onto the yellow
-apply just yellow into the center of the "orange".
This gave the orange a slight glowy-look, though it looked somewhat sloppy.
This is how I did it, though I shouldve thought about it more and done it better..
/!\STILL ONLY FIRST LEVEL OF CORK/!\
-Paint the entire cork (including where you'll be gluing) in a thick black. Leave no spots untouched
-Once this is dry, drybrush all over your grey (I used Rainy Grey from Reaper's Master Series)
-Once this is dry, drybrush the edges skull white.
Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat until you get the desired amount of cork.
-Add sand. Repeat process, don't be worried about getting black on the cork, you can always re-paint it.
I cut the base at the appropriate angles to have it fixed and be able to hold the Chaplain well, and proceeded to glue it onto one of the rocks. I hesitated to make it look like lava, but to be honest I was too lazy, so I made it rock instead and I think it turned out better this way. I then glued my Chaplain.
My goal was to achieve the idea that my Chaplain was charging into battle, jump-packing over rocks that got in his way, either leading or supporting the battle hands-on. I think I got it pretty well achieved, and I'm very proud with the paintjob. Like I said I think it's my best. Submitting it in the contest in 5 days, we'll see if the judge(s) share my opinion on Brother Sebastian Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, and by the way: If you liked Brother Sebastian, I've got some killer plans for my Chapter Master He's coming up pretty soon. I suspect it's because he's posting a day or two after his first post. Auto append only seems to kick in with 'recent' followup posts, perhaps a 6 hour range or so. I've had instances where I've not auto-appended as well.

I depends on how you attach the photo to the post. If you use the tabs at the bottom of the reply page and link a photo, you will circumvent the autoappend (this loophole was put in intentionally for people adding content to the site).

Hey guys, I'm back Just got back into Warhammer, moved to Belgium, etc..
Getting back into my Arms Gonna sit down this weekend and do some painting
Also, any ideas for getting money? I'm 14 and I wanna get some more Warhammer.
Gonna post the pictures once the models are painted.
P.S. My dad is considering getting me a big mounted magnifying glass for painting. Could be pretty sick for highlights and such.
Gonna prime my squad tomorrow, but I can't find my bit box or any of their weapons :/ Automatically Appended Next Post: Found all my stuff, I'm really excited

If that doesn't work, save birthday and Christmas money

Yea man, I've been asking for allowance for a few years and I usually get the amount of money for about 2 weeks (max) then my parents forget and it just kinda phases out. My local grocery store/convenience store (its kinda small) just burned down, but there was a 16 year old kid working there so maybe I could have gotten a job.. We'll see.. I'm also looking for baby sitting jobs at school and stuff.
Ive glued everything (minus packs and weapons).. Gonna prime tomorrow and paint this weekend.
I might start a thread where I'm going to write a story about the founding of the chapter or a big battle or something. We'll see.

Hey guys,
While my primer is drying on my tac squad (7 marines, 1 melta, 1 multimelta to come (gotta get a devvy squad) + sergeant with combi-melta and powersword) I'm painting up an old Space Marine biker that I have for practice, look and fun I'll post some pictures when I'm done.
In the meantime, do you guys have any suggestions for highlighting white? Should I make the hard edges darker, like the opposite of black highlighting?
Also, Git, I tried that OSL that you mentioned a long time ago for the lava and it doesn't look like OSL cause its too dull from the grey, but it looks pretty nice nonetheless (dirt or sand or something). I'm going to be basing up my biker as well, so you'll see that later.

There we go, Sergeant of Tactical Squad I, armed with a combi-melta and a power sword. Once I determine his name (I'm naming every marine in my army) it'll be on his right shoulder and Corax is written (though illegibly) on his left. Note his face, I'm proud of it I'll post about 5 other pictures of him in my WIP thread unless you guys dont mind this thread being bombarded with photos.. P.S. The face was made using Bestial Brown first, then a mix of elf flesh and grey (applied in a few thin layers until almost completely covering the bestial brown), then some good old brown ink was put on liberally, after painting the tongue, eyes and eyebrows. The face looks amazing in person, by the way.
