Personally don't mind being seen as a Totally Fun Guy.
Even if I am a Grumpy Old Man which of course is de rigeur for a dwarf.

You may be forgetting that the dwarfs defeated the elves during the War of Vengeance and caused them to withdraw from the Old World. I'm assuming this is just an oversight on your part, despite the fact that you are a confirmed elf-lover (which makes my inner dwarf not trust you).
