Thanks for the compliments its been a while, but I finally picked up my first big scary monster on sunday, and I managed to finish it all right now, I worked pretty hard on making the base look cool with alot of greenstuff and slate from the 40k basing kit, Im Modeled it as a Mawloc because I think its the best looking, but I'll be using as all 3 when I game.
Enjoy guys, lemme know what you think

Hey crusher thanks dude!
My schemes really simple
for the red I start from a black undercoat
I do a layer of scab red
then I wash it with baal red
after that has dried I wash it with devlan mud
I then Highlight it with red gore annnnnnnnnnd
DONE!

Nice work Moartiki, I particularly liked the base!
It will look scary and impressive on the field no matter what you use it as
Look forward to seeing more! Automatically Appended Next Post: Also - just curious as to how you felt the scything talons came out next to the carapace - On my Trygon, I can't decide whether to use the same pattern on the talons as the carapace or use a different colour to help distinguish between the two - what do you think?

Thanks slice n dice!! I definitely put alot of work into it
I played twice today with my 1500 pt list thats now complete
...but I lost twice :( One of them was really close against space wolves and the other against Space marines, but the 2nd one was cut really short due to closing time and spearhead deployment really messed me up

These look good. Did you ever do the ymgarl steelers?
I got those heads from Chapter house and love them. I just made sure to put a weight on the base because they were very front heavy as can be expected of putting a metal head onto a plastic body.
Are those the finecast 'Zoans?
But again nice looking conversions and great paint jobs.

If not for the mediocre who would be great, and thank goodness for those who are just terrible they make even those who are mediocre look great

I think the army looks great Moartiki. Good colors, well executed. Your modifications and sculpts show a lot of promise though I'm not sure about the design of the GS work on the Hive Guard figure. Looks a bit hairy to me.j
You're making quick progress too. Wish I could do have this well on my son's nids...
