Painting is finished on the Warmaster,I just need to work the base some more and he will be 100% complete

Then it is back to the Devastators I am painting.

Here is the finished Warmaster,one of my better paintjobs if I do say so myself.

Just simply amazing! I love the basic marines, the paint jobs are spot on! I love the Sons of Horus, the only traitor legion I would ever do.

I would try to get my hands on an abaddon head. His face seems a little relaxed, and his topknot too small. He is meant to be a berserker.

I am working on Devastators and this beauty ATM
A Katulan Reaver Land Speeder,I have two more coming in the mail and also Machinators treads came in today so I am currently eyeballing my PH Land Radier(The FW one I did'nt show you)
Here is the first one just about done,I need to get a hold of 3 flying bases,this one is just so I can take a picture of it.

Great looking land speeders. Great looking army all together.

I have finished up the core of the Devastator Squad all it needs is a Sarge and a couple stray bolter brothers and it is good to go.
I like to throw a nod to Rogue Trader once and a while as I did with the plasma cannon

I had this guy sent in special a Mk2 assault Marine.
I thought he would be better as the Sergeant for the Katulan Reavers

I am a fan of your work, whatever you do it is always very personal and you have your own style.
Although I find the painting on your core troops underwhelming compared to what I saw in your Blood Pact.
It might be the fault of all the smooth surfaces on marines or simply because the pictures do not do the painting justice.

Overall I really like the oldschool vibe this army has.

PS A better camera would be nice to all of us : P

I also have not added chipping or the slight boot weathering on any of them yet.
Gonna do that when they are all done.
It is not the camera as much as the setup and the fact most of the pics are taken at 1am :s

Ps Tempt me not with my Blood Pact I am determined to finish an army for the first time.
Though they will have thier day again,probally sooner than later.

Great army!

I decided to rework Cthonian,I covered the tracks and guns and resprayed with the new basecolor.
I then added new iconography,gemstone eye a little chipping and sprayed it down with a light coat of Glosscote.
I then used Burnt Umber oil paints to give a pin wash to the crevases and rivets.
Then I used a hair dryer to speed drying until the thinner used for pin wash was evaporated.
Finally I used a Large brush slightly damp with thinner to create downward streaks on the sides and on top the direction of movement front to back.
Now it dries for 2 days while it sets

Kudos on the weathering it is very realistic.

Now the light are back on I was able to finish off the highlights and base them.
3 more Katulan Reavers in Mk5 and a Sergeant/Vet in Mk4

personally, I've always prefered luna wolves over sons of horus but this is a well painted army you've got here. good job
