Have the new player packets been uploaded?

I just sent an email to adam about it. It seams like from what I herd there is no comp but a sportmanship checklist at the end of your games. they might be using list comp for the inital pairings though.

New packets for 40K and Fantasy will be uploaded tomorrow as well as the painting guide.

We won't be using a comp score for the tournament, it will be more heavily focused on sportsmanship.

Hi All,

The new rules and timing are up on the site and can be seen at:http://socalsmackdown.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=144&catid=45

Timing for both has been changed to 2hr30min, to give everyone time to play well and enjoy their games.

Painting guide has also been put up on the same page. Painting will count for 20% of your total score. This will also determine best painted for both 40K and Fantasy.

I appreciate the constructive feedback and want to make this the best event that we can for you. Please let me know if any other changes are needed.

Thanks and look forward to hopefully seeing some of you at the event.

Best,
Adam

This needs to be removed from page 3 of your packet:

Daemon Hunter players with a hard copy version of their book may select Witch Hunter and Inducted Guard/Marine allies, as outlined within those books.

And assuming you're not using the new Sisters of Battle White Dwarf army list for your tournament (and as part 2 of the codex won't be out until September, I'm guessing you're not) then this part can stay:

Witch Hunter players with a hard copy version of their book may select Daemon Hunter and Inducted Guard/Marine allies, as outlined within those books.

But needs to be changed to:

Witch Hunter players with a hard copy version of their book may select Inducted Guard/Marine allies, as outlined within those books.

I have to say that I really like how this rules packet looks and how things are going to work. Hopefully I'll be able to make it.

Does that mean your thinking about coming Yak? We keep missing playing each other at these events.

Well, I do love the Adepticon-style three tiered mission objectives, so it is very tempting...although you do know that Battlewagon Orks is a terrible match-up for me so if we ever played you'd likely destroy me unless something wacky happened.

But I actually don't think I can make it as I have already committed to being out of town that weekend. So unless something changes, I definitely won't be able to make it.

I also am looking forward to trying the three tier missions as I have never played them. Wacky is synonamous with Orks and I love a challange so we should meet up sometime and swap armys for a game. sorry to hear you wont be there, you will be missed.

Right now the numbers aren't really in as it seems that most register at the door. We have about 10 pre-registered for both.

Wish I could give you more specific numbers.

Originally I was not planning on attending due to some of the problems that seemed to be surrounding the event in combination with having gone to the NOVA the weekend before, but after all the changes that have been made due to feedback I am really gonna try and make it out. See ya there.

What is the Warmachine/Hordes expected turnout? Have people registered for the Iron Arena events? From what I read, all the WM events are free outside of door registration?

All of the WM events should have really good attendance. The Iron Arena and Hardcore are filling up nicely.

Excellent. I'll see if I can get a few of my buddies from GMI to make the short trip down. Is Battlefoam planning on having a booth?

Battlefoam made a last minute decision not to come as they are burned out from GenCon and had PAX last weekend. They did however send prize support and Brookhurst should have a large amount of their podcut for sale.

Battlefoam should be at the convention next year.

Works for me. Just need some foam for my Titans. Any idea if Privateer Press is going to sell their pre-release models?

I just registered, but I have a question with the re-roll dice. Is that basically used once per game so we can basically get 5 re-rolls over the course of the tournament or is it once per tournament? Just want to have an obvious answer out there for people to prepare hehe =).

I ended up going 5-3. One of my losses was really close, but the other 2 were just turn 4 phase out rape trains. Mech Blood Angels and Wych heavy DE.

All in all it was a very fun time and I was pleased to come out with a winning record. I really hope I have the funds to make it out again next year.

I'm sure I'll get into the particulars when we are shooting the gak this weekend at the Smackdown. See ya there.

There-roll dice is useable once during the convention...use it as you see fit. On the other hand, you can buy more $3 each and all the money benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation. You can use a maximum of 1 re-roll d6 per game.

Hope that helps....
