At the last smack down the re-roll tokens were being used to re-roll first turn, end of game rolls, sieze the inititive rolls, and other re-rolls. this brought on lots of problems (because it really changed the games drasticly) and they banned the use of the re-rolls for these (first turn, end of game rolls, sieze the inititive rolls, and other re-rolls) at the Slaugter in Space 3. Are you following the same guidelines?

I haven't played my Dark Angels in ages. Like, years. I don't think I still have enough to even field an army.
@OP
Yeah, I agree with Grimgob. The reroll tokens were game changing when they could be used for things like that.

I was hoping to be able to use the re-roll token for just such rolls lol...Sometimes you just need that extra turn! But a clarification would be nice...

For Warmachine events, it says events are "Closed" and are no longer accepting registration, but it says player capacity is unlimited.
Are these events full and should I not bother trying to get in them?

Ya some clarification on those tokens would be great. I was a little surprised when I saw you could buy more tokens for 3 dollars a pop. Seems a little cheap if you could use them for rolls that see if the game goes on, first turn, or seizing.

Yeah...Vect what, seizes on a 4+? Imagine that with a Reroll in EVERY game. 75% seize initiative, I'll take it! I know in years past I've used the re-roll to try to re-roll the end of game roll and I felt dirty doing it and quite annoyed my opponent (even though it failed). I like the idea of the re-roll token but...one for every game with the effect it can have is a bit much. Especially when your opponent doesn't have them.

Grim gob is right and I'm glad he pointed it out.
Things that the re-roll can't be used for as it is a game changer:
1. Seize the initiative
2. End of game roll
3. Re-rolls (e.g. You can't re-roll a re-roll)
None of games are closed, the registration is closed as we need time before the convention to do all the paperwork. All the events except the RPG ones are open.
Best,
Adam

Just so I get this straight...online registration is closed, but I could theoretically still just show up, buy a badge and also sign up for the tourney? Otherwise I'll stop trying to find a 4th Piranha.

Online registration is closed, but we still have plenty of room in the tournament. Please just show up and have your lists ready.
Hope to see you there. I won't be online after this post, but my email will go to my phone if anyone needs me. Adam@socalsmackdown.com
Thanks all for your guidance in making this possible, I appreciate the feedback.

the funny thing is that for 11 people its a pretty tough field. the terrain is horrable. I think with better terrain and better advertising it would have been alot better. They updated alot but it still needs a little work.

@tyczynski, Thanks for the link. Thats me checking line of site for Reecius's typoons against my BW (wich he promptly blew sky high) and my family would love too make fun of me about it It was really fun as there were 11 players, we all knew each other except one young guy who was nice, and 8-9 of those players are high ranking recognizable players from the westcost. It made for five friendly and tough games. I tied to mortive and lost to reecius (were even and I cant wait till the tie breaker). Reecius took best Overall, I took Best General, Mortevie took 3rd. The event itself had better terrain the second day as they condenced alot of the sparce terrain to a few tables and had maybe a little too much terrain (I'm looking at you villages of death table). Two and a half hours was great and played leasurly all weekend. I'm sure if they do the event again next year, with some more advertising and a few more tweeks, more terrain (I would like to see more of you show up) It could be a really good event. Thanks Adam for putting it on, I'm sure its alot of work.

Very small, but fun event. Kind of a bummer so few people showed up, but of the 11 there, 9 were top notch players. So, despote the small field, it was a really tough tournament.
Every one of my 5 games was against an expert player with an excellent list. I can honestly say that only adepticon had as tough of a lneup to play through for me personally.
I was pleased to win with my good old bjorn wolves. I have not played them in a while but they still deliver the goods, particularly at 2,000pts.
I got to get a rematch with mortetvie and grimgob who both beat me in excellent games last time we played, so it was good to get some payback!
Every games was close and fun, and very challenging.
The tournament itself uad some issues with structure, but the to's was more than willing to make changes amd I think next year can be a really fun event.
I took footage while there and I will post it up shortly.

I think the tournament was fun overall, mainly because of the competition. The scenarios were good, challenging and fun.
All my games were good, so I am very pleased, I had to think really hard in my games so I feel like I came out of the tournament a stronger player, you know, when you think "oh if only I did that differently" and so on. Really good games everyone!
I also think that everyone, at some point in this tournament had freakishly good or bad dice lol! My poor necron oponent 3rd game had his Lord run off the board and another destroyer squad also run off along with other terrible luck in one turn alone, like wow.
I had some pretty clutch dice fails where one warwalker failed a dangerous terrain test and died which would have blocked Gaz's charge into my Wraithguard in my game with Levi but the luck turned on levi with the game going on long enough for me to contest enough objectives to pull out a tie lol. Levi also managed to blow up FateWeaver and some other things with some crazy shooting against the fate-crusher demon player in one turn while Reece never went first even with Bjorn's re-roll (lol at EVERY opponent rolling a 6 to go first against you Reece). But still, you managed to pull out amazing shooting phases in all of your games =).
I would go again next year and recommend anyone else interested to go to.
One issue with the tournament was the terrain the first day was a joke, almost nothing blocked LOS and it was really a let down. The second day they fixed that with some of the tables (the city fight table was a bit much ha) and if they work on the terrain issue for next year it should be great.
Another issue was communication, one tournament judge came over and specifically said only scoring units can claim terrain in my mission with Levi (contrary to what the packet said) then at the end of the game they said oops we meant stick with the rules packet which really messed everything up for me but I'm sure that was just a simple breakdown in communication on some level, I should have clarified with them before hand so that is partly my bad I guess (but I think everyone else heard only scoring units and played that way until the end anyway).
So yeah, great games, thanks for putting it on Adam and hope to see what next year brings! Special thanks to Reece and his friends for coming down giving this tournament a better turnout.
