I think my biggest one was a little over a year ago when my friends and I pooled together a bit of money to buy a $1000 limousine for road tripping. After we got it home, took it to Sonic once, and then changed the oil, we realized that it was in fact in terrible condition and none of us had the know-how or inclination to fix it up. So it sat for about 8 months until we finally scrapped it. Two of the folks in the group refused all of the previous offers to sell because they weren't going to recoup their initial investment.

It wasn't all bad though. The few trips were fun, and I can now say that I've driven and owned a limo.

I've had a few aborted projects over the years they include:

A fantasy novel that I started writting when I was in Grammar School. I made what I thought was a decent start but ran out of steam a few pages in. I found the file a few years ago read it and realised that it was so bad it made Dan Brown look like the greatest author in the world instead of the pudding faced, currant eyed murderer or prose that he is.

A band that me and my friend still insist to this day will happen "one day" - probably on the day Satan skates to work. But so far due to lack of time, money, a place to practice and any song writting talent it has remained on the shelf.

A horror/film Noir about a strange and powerful book, a wicked hypnotist and a private detective. This was put on the back burner due to lack of time, lack of equipment, lack of budget and lack of people to be in it. Although I am starting this project up again if I can find enough people to be in pics I need to form the backdrop of some scenes.
